This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Agriculture of Chuvashia Sergei Artamonov during a working meeting in the Cheboksary District.
To date, 82.5% of the work on the application of fertilizers for winter crops has been completed in the republic - out of 81.9 thousand hectares, 67.6 thousand hectares have been fed. Agrarians have also begun spring sowing - 41.5 thousand hectares of grain and leguminous crops have been sown , including wheat - 17 thousand, barley - 17.6 thousand.
“Spring field work has begun in all districts of Chuvashia. Of about 220 thousand hectares of planned grain crops, about 20% have been sown. The task is to finish the main sowing within two weeks. Energy supply allows us to do this,” said Sergey Artamonov.
Agricultural organizations of the Cheboksary region confirmed that they are ready to complete the sowing campaign in a short time.
For example, Churachikskoye JSC has already completed the feeding of winter wheat, perennial grasses, and yesterday they started spring sowing - on the first day they sowed 45 hectares of barley out of 329 planned. In addition, the organization plans to sow 254 hectares of spring wheat, 125 hectares of peas and 473 hectares of corn for fodder.
Also, the day before the meeting, equipment from Progress CJSC of the Cheboksary District entered the fields. “Spring sowing is planned for about a thousand hectares. 560 hectares are winter crops, already fed. Conditions allow you to leave early, especially zero technology. We have everything for spring field work - mineral fertilizers were purchased long ago, we also buy seeds, fuel and lubricants - everything is organized. The mechanics are working, the mood is good. You can meet within 10 days at the same pace of work,” said Sergey Vanyushkin, general DIRECTOR of the organization.
The sowing structure in Chuvashia will remain the same as last year - 550.7 thousand hectares. More than half will be occupied by grain crops - 305.4 thousand hectares, fodder - 187.2 thousand hectares, oilseeds - 35.1 thousand hectares, potatoes - 18.7 thousand hectares, open ground vegetables - 3.5 thousand .ha This volume will ensure food security for the inhabitants of Chuvashia, feed livestock and sell part of the crops outside the region.
“In principle, there are no risks. The only thing is that I want to hurry up some farms that like to start preparing seeds in April, we have several of them. We are not waiting for time, the moisture is running out - we need to accelerate,” said Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Agriculture of Chuvashia Sergei Artamonov.
