Fish processing, aquaculture and recreational fishing enterprises will be developed in the Yaroslavl region

In the building of the representative office of the Government of the Yaroslavl region under the Government of the Russian Federation, an industry investment meeting was held, dedicated to the consideration of the investment attractiveness of the Yaroslavl region in the development of aquaculture and fish processing, sports and amateur fishing and agrotourism.
The invited participants of the meeting were the heads of districts of the Yaroslavl region, business owners, representatives of scientific institutions operating in the territory of the Yaroslavl region, Moscow and other subjects of the Russian Federation.
“Great prospects for the implementation of investment projects in the fishery complex open up for our region an advantageous economic and geographical position, developed transport infrastructure, a unique system of personnel training, high innovation potential,” said Valery Kholodov, Deputy Chairman of the Regional Government.
At the meeting, potential investors were presented with investment sites in the Rybinsk, Bolsheselsky, Nekouzsky, Nekrasovsky, Rostov, Myshkinsky municipal districts.
Thus, ANO Shuvalovsky Park plans to implement a project in Myshkino for the integrated development of the city center and the creation of the Shuvalovsky Park in it. Its concept involves the creation of a comfortable environment while preserving the historical appearance. To increase the tourist flow on the territory of the Park in Myshkin, it is planned to place a berth for small yachts and boats, decorated with towers and an outpost, build a glamping with a parking lot, as well as revive the traditional local fairs - Borisoglebskaya and Vvedenskaya and place pavilions for retail trade in handicrafts and souvenirs . As part of the city's development, playgrounds, recreation areas, restaurants of old merchant cuisine, a bird park and Multland will be created, where products with images of domestic animation characters will be sold.
A small innovative enterprise LLC "IBMH-EcoBioTech", which is engaged in research and development in the field of natural and technical sciences, has agreed to purchase pike from fishing enterprises in the Yaroslavl region for the production of a biologically active food supplement with a high content of carnosine and taurine. The drug will have a restorative, antioxidant, restorative effect and promote active longevity.
Another company, Ladozhskaya Forel LLC from the Republic of Karelia, is also considering the possibility of developing business in the Yaroslavl region.
“Business development in the Yaroslavl region has a high potential. The tourist flow to the region is growing every year, and in 2022 it amounted to about 10 million tourists,” said Vasily Gorbunov, Deputy Governor of the Yaroslavl Region, Head of the Representative Office of the Government of the Yaroslavl Region under the Government of the Russian Federation.
He also mentioned the investment Internet portal of the Yaroslavl region, where anyone can independently choose a piece of land or a water body suitable for their investment project and contact the relevant department for help in obtaining it.
Currently, the fishery complex of the Yaroslavl region is implementing 5 investment projects with a total investment of more than 1.8 billion rubles. Thanks to their implementation, it is planned to create about 100 new jobs in the region.
In particular, this year the first stage of the project for the cultivation of catfish and trout of Yaroslavl Broiler JSC in the Rybinsk region will be put into operation. The total investment in the construction of the complex is more than 1.6 billion rubles, 50 new jobs will be created. Upon reaching full design capacity, it is planned to produce up to 7,000 tons of fish per year with subsequent processing. The second phase of the project is scheduled for 2027.
In the Pereslavl region, a complex for growing Australian red claw crayfish in the RAS system will open. The project is being implemented between the Government of the region and Aquaferma Belovodie LLC. Up to 10 tons of crayfish per year will be produced at the site of the new enterprise. The total investment will amount to 35 million rubles. As a result of the implementation, it is planned to create 5 new jobs.
There are various support measures for the development of enterprises in the region. The federal and regional budgets reimburse 50% of the costs of insuring the risks of losing commercial aquaculture facilities (commodity fish farming) when growing salmon, sturgeon and catfish species, and subsidizes part of the direct costs incurred for the construction and (or) modernization of facilities for the production of feed for aquaculture (20 %), there is preferential lending at 1-5% per annum, and Agrostartup grants are provided in the amount of up to 4 million rubles.
At the expense of regional funds, enterprises are provided
with land plots for rent without bidding for the implementation of large-scale investment projects, as well as subsidizing part of the direct costs incurred for the construction and modernization of aquaculture facilities (30%).
Information, consulting and methodological support for investors is provided by the regional Competence Center in the field of agricultural cooperation and support for farmers within the framework of the national project "Small and medium-sized businesses and support for individual entrepreneurial initiatives".
Thus, within the framework of the meeting, key directions for realizing the investment potential of the fishery complex of the region in the fish processing industry, aquaculture and the organization of sports and amateur fishing were identified.
