Design and repair works of reclamation systems were carried out in the Vologda Oblast

In the Vologda Oblast, the word "reclamation" is associated with land drainage activities. The weak water permeability of our soils, combined with excessive moisture, causes intensive bogging of the lands, overgrowing of lands with shrubs and small forests.

Practice has established that on reclaimed lands, spring tillage begins 7-10 days earlier, and the autumn harvest period is extended by 15 days, which is an important factor in our northern conditions.

According to the results of the inventory of reclamation systems, there are 907 drainage systems and 10 irrigation systems in the region. The area of ​​reclamation lands is almost 245 thousand hectares, including 234 thousand hectares of drained land.
Since 2014, there has been a program for the development of melioration for agricultural purposes in RUSSIA, in which the Vologda Oblast takes part. One of the first participants in the reconstruction of reclamation systems was the SHPK "Plemzavod Maysky" of the Vologda region, then the breeding plant-collective farm "Aurora", LLC "Pemzavod" Pokrovskoye "and the Order of the Red Banner of Labor stud farm-collective farm named after the 50th anniversary of the USSR Gryazovetsky district joined the participation .

In 2021, at the expense of the federal and regional budgets, design and repair work was carried out on land reclamation systems that are on the balance sheet of agricultural enterprises on an area of ​​176 hectares. Almost 12 million rubles were spent from the federal and regional budgets to carry out irrigation and drainage measures (in 2020, 8.3 million rubles).

At present, works on irrigation and drainage measures are carried out by two organizations: the branch of the Vologdameliovodkhoz Administration in the Vologda region and Stroymelio LLC in the Gryazovets region. Development of design and estimate documentation for the reconstruction of reclamation systems is carried out by Vologdainzhproekt Institute LLC.

This year, hydro-reclamation activities in the region will continue. Agricultural enterprises of the Vologda and Totemsky districts are joining the measures to improve the reclamation fund of the region.
