Topic news The work schedule of the President of Belarus is always very eventful. Alexander Lukashenko holds meetings and working meetings on the most pressing issues of the country's development, regularly visits the regions, makes foreign visits and himself receives foreign guests, communicates with journalists, signs decrees and laws. And even when there are no public events, this does not mean at all that the HEAD of state is not working. However, even during rest, be it hockey training or chopping wood, Alexander Lukashenko will find a reason for another assignment. As he likes to say, everything must be based on life.

The “Week of the President” project is for those who want to keep up with the head of state, to be aware of the most current statements and decisions of the Belarusian leader. Last week, Alexander Lukashenko continued the theme of developing cooperation with Russian regions productively with the governor of the Voronezh region. We agreed on a variety of areas, but overall the prospects are no less than in the Irkutsk region, where the President recently visited in person.
At the highest level, the presidents of Belarus and RUSSIA compared notes on a range of issues during June 12. Taking this opportunity, Alexander Lukashenko wishes his colleague Happy Russia Day.

Other important international partners of Belarus also had reasons for presidential congratulations. Alexander Lukashenko congratulated Chinese President Xi Jinping on his birthday, assuring him of official Minsk’s desire for close cooperation. Congratulations went to the addressee in New Delhi on the occasion of the victory of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the parliamentary elections in this country. The head of the Belarusian state also congratulated his South African colleague Cyril Ramaphosa on his re-election to the presidency, inviting him to negotiations in MINSK .

Another international occasion is the 23rd anniversary of the formation of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, of which Belarus expects to become a full member in a month.

The Belarusian-Azerbaijani relations included a busy official visit to Minsk by the Chairman of the Milli Majlis (Parliament) of Azerbaijan, Sagiba Gafarova, with whom Alexander Lukashenko was at the Palace of Independence.

A new election campaign is approaching - presidential elections are due to be held in Belarus in 2025. In a first approximation of this topic, Alexander Lukashenko with the head of the Central Election Commission, mentioning the political embarrassment of fugitive opponents, and also setting the task of conducting the upcoming elections in Belarus with dignity - so that the mosquito does not undermine the nose.

There was also a big one on the schedule - new ministers, heads of executive committees, assistant to the President, ambassador and more.

The end of the week was marked by a wide-ranging meeting with the leadership of the Council of Ministers, at which, in addition to a number of important, but still current issues, Alexander Lukashenko publicly addressed high-ranking corrupt officials who have come to light recently. And everyone in this regard publicly: “A step to the left, a step to the right - we’ll put you up against the wall!”

There were other interesting events. For example, there are 244 more citizens in Belarus - the head of state signed this; noted the National Olympic Stadium "Dynamo", with which Alexander Lukashenko the stadium staff.

Popularization of the rich cultural heritage, preservation and development of national art traditions. All this is the National Festival of Belarusian Song and Poetry, the President sent greetings to the participants and guests this week.

On Sunday, healthcare workers celebrate their professional holiday . “You give confidence in the future to millions of Belarusians, helping babies to be born, coming to the workplace with a feeling of absolute readiness to adequately respond to any professional challenge, which is how you deserve the respect and gratitude of patients who have received qualified care,” their Belarusian leader.
TREASURED BILLION. Due to which Belarus expects to double its growth in cooperation with the Voronezh region
The working week of the head of state began in the Palace of Independence with a delegation from the Voronezh region of Russia led by Governor Alexander Gusev. Belarus has great interest in this region, because it is one of the most developed and advanced in Russia. There are now considerable investments in development there, and therefore there are considerable opportunities for Belarusian goods or specialists to work together on certain projects. Microelectronics and aircraft manufacturing, construction, supplies of equipment and food, cooperation - in all these areas and not only there is potential for the development of cooperation. Alexander Lukashenko noted that it is possible to work more actively in high-tech industries, including pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, information and communication technologies, and energy saving.
A couple of years ago in Minsk they outlined a number of important areas of cooperation and agreed to interact more actively in industry, agriculture, and the humanitarian sphere. As a result, the Voronezh region became one of the most important partners of Belarus. At the end of 2023, trade turnover exceeded $500 million. “It’s a good figure, we must strive for the coveted billion, as we agreed,” the President directed. “Especially since good dynamics remain this year.” Region (Voronezh region. - BELTA note) reached 13th place in Russia in terms of EXPORT volumes from our country." Alexander Lukashenko outlined key areas where the parties are already successfully interacting and there is potential for further increasing cooperation. “I think the time has come for us to cooperate more closely with each other. Finally, thanks to circumstances, we understand who is who, who are real friends, and who has simply stuck to Russia and our cooperation for many years,” the Belarusian leader noted. About the demand for Belarusian builders This area traditionally leads in trade relations between Belarus and the Voronezh region. The total cost of projects implemented within the framework of cooperation over the past three years has increased 10 times - to almost 8.5 billion Russian rubles. Among the joint projects there is, for example, industrial construction, in particular tire recycling production, as well as social facilities. “The reconstruction by Belarusian builders of the main sports arena (Voronezh - BELTA note) - the Central Trade Union Stadium, I am sure, will ensure its inclusion in the category of the best in the Russian Federation,” the head of state added.

With the participation of Belarusian specialists, many facilities, including social infrastructure, were built in the region. One of them is a large educational center in Voronezh with almost 3 thousand students.

Alexander Gusev noted that Belarusian builders have proven themselves well and in many ways are even an example for their Voronezh colleagues of how to work. “Many people are already focusing on deadlines and the quality that their Belarusian colleagues produce,” he said.

On prospects in industry,
the President proposed to supplement trade with a wide range of industrial products with cooperation projects.

As for the equipment produced in our country, people in the Voronezh region are very familiar with it and use almost the entire line to a greater or lesser extent. MAZ regularly takes part in competitions for the purchase of bus equipment, and MTZ, Gomselmash, AMKODOR - in competitions for the supply of agricultural, road and forestry equipment.

“But today, the growing demand for equipment in Russia requires preliminary work between manufacturers and consumers. We rely on high-quality and timely service support, personnel training, supplies of spare parts and consumables. Without this, it is generally impossible to supply any equipment to the markets,” - the head of state emphasized.

The governor agreed that it would be nice to start interacting on terms of cooperation. “Not only to complement each other with some elements of manufactured equipment, but also, perhaps, to enter into each other’s capital. I think such forms can also be considered,” Alexander Gusev is sure. The parties are talking about creating multimodal centers to service Belarusian equipment, which is currently used in the Voronezh region, and the creation of small assembly plants is not excluded. The field of radio and microelectronics is also in demand, where Belarus has good competencies.

One of the important prospects is aircraft manufacturing. This topic was recently discussed in detail during Alexander Lukashenko’s visit to Irkutsk, but Voronezh residents also have something to offer Belarus in terms of cooperation. “We also have a large enterprise. In fact, one of three enterprises in the world that can produce wide-body aircraft. We are now preparing to produce smaller aircraft, including military transport ones. I hope that here, too, we will be able to somehow cooperate.” , - said Alexander Gusev in a conversation with reporters. About interaction in the agro-industrial complex According to statistics, in 2023 the Voronezh region took 10th place among the regions of the Russian Federation in the purchase of food products and agricultural raw materials from Belarus. “We will be glad to bring you into the top five in terms of consumption and processing of our products,” noted Alexander Lukashenko.

Belarusian enterprises and scientific organizations, according to the President, are also ready to exchange experience on the use of new technologies in agriculture. They are already actively cooperating in the field of seed production. Belarus, for its part, also offers technologies in the field of dairy production, including the design and construction of complexes, their provision with equipment.
About the public utilities sector
This area is closely related to the construction of housing and maintaining the housing stock in technically sound condition, as well as the provision of quality services to the population. “You know that in Belarus you can borrow not only solutions for organizing work in this area. We also produce machinery and equipment for collecting, sorting and processing waste, water treatment, and sanitation,” noted Alexander Lukashenko.

THERE ARE NO CLOSED TOPICS. What Lukashenko discussed with the head of the Azerbaijani parliament
Less than a month after Alexander Lukashenko paid a state visit to Azerbaijan, the Chairman of the Milli Majlis (parliament) of Azerbaijan, Sahib Gafarova, was received in Minsk on an official visit. The visit is in many ways significant, given the good relations established between the countries, as well as large-scale agreements, the implementation of which will have to be worked on, including by parliamentarians from both sides.

A guest from sunny Azerbaijan on Tuesday, June 11, warmly and the President of Belarus. Characterizing the relations between the parliaments of the two countries, the head of state emphasized: “They are developing very well. This is the case when inter-parliamentary relations do not lag behind the level of relations between the leaders of our states.” The head of state noted that in Belarus, especially in the year of the 80th anniversary of the country’s liberation from the Nazi invaders, they value the contribution that Azerbaijanis made to the Victory and the liberation of Belarusian lands and remember their exploits. The President noted that during the visit, Sagib Gafarova also paid tribute to the exploits of soldiers during the Great Patriotic War by laying a wreath on Victory Square in Minsk. “This is very important and symbolic at the present time,” the Belarusian leader emphasized. “I am pleased that our values coincide—Azerbaijan and Belarus.”
Alexander Lukashenko noted that he has a long-standing relationship with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, dating back to the time when his father Heydar Aliyev was at the head of the country. “He was a very visionary man,” said the head of state. “Ilham is a worthy successor to his father’s work. He probably did so much in history that it is unlikely that any president after Ilham Heydarovich will repeat this.”

According to Alexander Lukashenko, he remembers his recent visit to Azerbaijan with warmth . Then, together with Ilham Aliyev, he visited, among other things, the revived territories of Azerbaijan. The head of the Belarusian state especially notedclimate and natural beauty of Shushi: “Having visited many places on our planet, I have never seen such a place - clean air, beautiful nature. I am sure that you will accomplish another feat by restoring life in these territories. We will be happy to participate in these works, We have identified some directions. There are no obstacles." Characterizing the development of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, the President emphasized: “Our trade turnover is not bad. But it is unbalanced. We need to buy more goods from Azerbaijan.” This issue, according to Alexander Lukashenko, will be resolved. During the visit of the President of Belarus to Azerbaijan, areas in which cooperation should be more intensive were discussed, including the exchange of technologies in the fields of agriculture and military-industrial complex.
“In a word, there are no closed topics. We are ready to work in this direction. I am confident that our parliamentarians will ensure this process legislatively,” said the Belarusian leader.

A MOSQUITO WILL NOT RUIN YOUR NOSE. How they intend to hold presidential elections in Belarus and how the fugitive
Alexander Lukashenko discredited himself in the status of not only the President, but also the Chairman of the All-Belarusian People's Assembly on June 11 with a report from the Chairman of the Central Election Commission Igor Karpenko. It’s interesting that even though the Belarusian leader has been heading the Supreme National Assembly for about a month and a half, he still hasn’t received an official certificate. Igor Karpenko came, among other things, to correct this formality.

“I’m already working as Chairman, but I don’t have a certificate. What if they ask,” the head of state noted, welcoming the head of the Central Election Commission into the office. Igor Karpenko, in turn, presented Alexander Lukashenko with status “crusts”, wishing him good HEALTH and success in serving the Belarusian people. Then a serious conversation took place on the topic of the upcoming presidential elections in 2025. They must take place no later than July 20, 2025, but the specific date will later be determined by parliament.
“If we take a retrospective and look from the past elections (Unified Voting Day in February 2024 - BELTA's note) to the elections that we will have to hold (presidential in 2025 - BELTA's note), we are in an electoral cycle. From one election to another. It’s a difficult time. But so far we have passed half the way quite successfully. God grant that it will be the same before the elections,” the head of state noted.

He proposed, as a first approximation, to discuss some details in the organization of the upcoming elections, including inviting international observers and working with voters.

“We will try to hold the elections in such a way that the mosquito does not undermine our nose. There is no need for us (as was the case in previous years) to put pressure or use administrative resources. We are able to hold these elections honestly and decently,” the Belarusian leader emphasized. “We must hold them with dignity.” these elections. Don’t offend people. This is the main thing. Elections are for the people, for our state.”
In this regard, Alexander Lukashenko mentioned the recent “elections” among fugitive opponents, noting the inconsistency of their approaches in assessing the actions of the Belarusian authorities and themselves: “Out of almost 7 million voters, as many as 6 thousand took part (BELTA note) in voting. And nothing - they consider themselves elected, they elected the “parliament”, they went to ask for money in cities and villages. But this is their problem, why draw parallels here... I’m just hinting: well, if you accused the authorities of behaving dishonestly. , I used administrative resources, what do they call it now?”
Igor Karpenko reported that after the Unified Voting Day, some kind of work on mistakes was carried out, and a meeting was held on this topic. “Naturally, by the next Unified Voting Day, this will all be corrected. I can say with confidence that for the upcoming presidential elections we do not need to change the electoral legislation in any way. It worked for us on the Unified Voting Day. We tested it. Yes, what “There were some nuances, but they were related to the uniformity of application (of certain norms. - BELTA’s note). These are purely procedural issues that we regulated,” he said.
PERSONNEL SCHEDULE. Who received ministerial portfolios and what Lukashenko demands from the local vertical

Thursday, June 13, became a big personnel day in Alexander Lukashenko’s schedule. And although the post of head of the Administration remained vacant this time, there were more than enough important and interesting appointments. Two people left the Palace of Independence with ministerial portfolios. This is the one who changed the post of head of ONT to the post of Minister of Information. And also the new Minister of Labor and Social Protection. For her, this work is already familiar, since recently she headed this department, being in the position of first deputy minister. Former minister Irina Kostevich previously left for parliamentary work.
Another key appointment of the President of the Republic of Belarus is Inspector for the Minsk Region Alexander Kokhan, who is moving to this position from the post of Chairman of the Petrikovsky District Executive Committee. “In the near future, I will visit that region, Pripyat, more often. This is one of my favorite places, the people there are good. I started my presidential career from there,” noted Alexander Lukashenko. Experienced manager Igor Buzovsky has become the new rector of the Academy of Management under the President of Belarus. The head of state ordered the Academy of Management to be audited. The president believes that it is high time to reform it: “Those who need to study there should study there. What is needed for the state.”
The embassy in Kyrgyzstan will now be headed by Sergey Molunov. Alexander Lukashenko asks him to determine specific areas of cooperation with this country: “We have excellent relations with all the leaders in Kyrgyzstan, with influential people there. We need to decide in what areas we will cooperate with them.” Instead of Marat Markov, who left for ministerial work, an equally experienced elder (as the President himself described him) in the media sphere, and in public administration in general, is Igor Lutsky. “It’s good that he agreed. The first question was whether Lutsky agreed. Yes, they said he agreed. Well done for agreeing. We really, really need this. He’s returned to his path,” the head of state noted. On the requirements for the new Minister of Information and his original program on TV
When he was appointed Minister of Information, the President set him a number of tasks for working in the media sphere, but also instructed him to preserve the original program “Markov. Nothing Personal,” which he hosts on the ONT TV channel.

Marat Markov announced his readiness to continue working on television. Moreover, there were similar precedents in history when the program was hosted by ministers. “No, the ministry will be your main position. And then I will only be glad if you cope and host your program. But not to the detriment of your main job,” - Aleksandr Lukashenko warned.

Marat Markov agreed with this thesis: “The main work is the main thing. There really are a lot of questions there. Moreover, on the eve of the elections, it will be necessary to build new media. And thanks to the decisions that you have made, today the TV channels have opportunities. But these capabilities need to be built up and expanded."

The head of state clearly warned the new minister on this issue that he would be personally responsible for these issues. “You really are, as the Deputy Head of the Administration said here, a piece of goods. And the load on you will be greater, and the demand from you will be greater. There is no need to provide assistance here. You need to be responsible for this and involve everyone you deem necessary. And ONT , and STV, and Channel One, - said Alexander Lukashenko. - The main thing is money, finances, you must hold them in your hands and give everyone a penny where they need it. This is the main thing for me - help a little organizationally. . And Pertsov first of all."

Returning to the topic of Marat Markov’s original program, Alexander Lukashenko once again noted that he would only welcome it if the new minister continued to deal with it without compromising his main work. At the same time, he suggested that we think about preparing a worthy replacement for ourselves in the future. “We need to train strong people. So that there is a worthy replacement. Educated, literate. You will help little by little. Because this Markov tag, no matter who works there, will remain forever. This is your brand, so to speak,” the President added. Alexander Lukashenko spoke

about improving the system of benefits and social support
and why he finally settled on the candidacy for the post of the new Minister of Labor and Social Protection. In addition to professional qualities, the gender aspect also played a role in this case: “It’s not bad that there will be a woman, because she is more soulful. And a professional - she knows everything.”

“You have to be a good leader. It won’t be easy,” the Belarusian leader admonished. “But don’t throw away benefits and various privileges. You know from your previous work that there is no such thing as extra money, you must always earn money. We have already provided benefits to our population.” that some are just sitting and waiting for some benefits."
As the President noted, this issue needs to be seriously thought through. This also applies to financial assistance to families with many children. “It’s no secret that we have many families with many children, who should not be allowed near the ruble at all. And this money does not reach the children: they drink it away or something else. Therefore, we need to develop a system so that, while supporting families with many children (and we will support them, this is the number one issue for us, regarding housing, and so on), to establish a barrier and criteria for how to get money to children,” the head of state instructed

. “We need to be very careful, not formal, about these issues so that those who receive the money. to whom they are intended,” Alexander Lukashenko emphasized.

About key tasks for the local vertical
Alexander Lukashenko also agreed on the appointment of a number of leaders of the local power vertical . New deputy chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee, chairmen of the Baranovichi, Maloritsky, Rossony district executive committees, heads of administration of the Zavodsky, Central and Partizansky districts of Minsk.
The President outlined key tasks, including working with people, conducting harvesting and election campaigns.

The head of state advised to build up personnel work slowly, having thoroughly studied the personnel potential, and be sure to give a chance to everyone who is already working.

Alexander Lukashenko expects the new appointees to show greater responsibility and initiative. The main thing is that there should be a result. “I direct you right away and always say: you are presidents on your territory. You must organize the process, you must monitor all processes,” the President emphasized.

Separately, the head of state drew attention to the sphere of observance of human rights: “We do not have any ombudsmen. The President and you, my people on the ground, are involved in human rights. We should not create unnecessary tension in society, but there should not be any liberties in violation of the laws.” .

An important and responsible area of work for the local vertical will soon be the conduct of an election campaign. “We have clearly already entered the electoral period,” stated Alexander Lukashenko. At the beginning of the week, this topic was discussed during the report of the Chairman of the Central Election Commission Igor Karpenko.

“You don’t have to wait for something new. You were all participants in these elections (during the single voting day - BELTA’s note),” Alexander Lukashenko directed. “I have always said: we are holding elections for ourselves. Don’t look around. Everyone , what they (foreign opponents. - BELTA's note) taught us these years after the collapse of the Soviet Union is in order to have at hand and subordinate (a non-independent, easily controlled state. - BELTA's note. Step to the left, step). to the right - no money (they will be deprived of money. - BELTA note), and they will also remove your head."
The head of state once again emphasized the need to work with people, communicate with work collectives, and explain the situation.

Another traditional requirement of Alexander Lukashenko for the heads of local authorities is to constantly keep the agricultural sector under control and in sight, paying close attention to it. “This is your concern,” he emphasized.
The President warned officials about his serious control over the situation in agriculture. “Also, so as not to lose this harvest. We will have a good reserve, some extra tons - we have somewhere to put this gold and foreign exchange reserve,” said the head of state.

URGENT QUESTIONS. What the President discussed with the leadership of the Council of Ministers

Regular meetings with the leadership of the Council of Ministers to discuss the accumulated important issues are already an established practice. The topics of such events are outlined only conditionally. On the one hand, there are a number of documents and proposals that are submitted by ministries and departments and which require decisions at the level of the head of state. On the other hand, the representative composition at such meetings (and governors, heads of regulatory and law enforcement agencies are also invited to them) makes it possible to discuss almost any topic on the topic of the day. For example, Alexander Lukashenko often takes this opportunity to listen to regional leaders about the situation in agriculture.

This time, before moving on to the main stated topics, the head of state drew the attention of the event participants to facts of corruption among high officials and strictly warned everyone. But we’ll talk about this below, but for now directly about the issues of the meeting that Alexander Lukashenko held on Friday, June 14.

About pellet production The country has created significant pellet production capacity, which has made it possible to involve low-grade wood and wood processing waste into production. “This was my strict, urgent demand,” the head of state recalled. “We built plants that turn it all into wood chips, and we get an excellent fuel resource.” But the head of state criticized the current work of production and the volume of sales of their products. The President considers efforts to organize export supplies of this type of fuel and its use in the domestic market to be insufficient. Yes, there are objective difficulties in the form of sanctions and loss of the EU market , which is how officials justify the situation, but Alexander Lukashenko does not accept such explanations in their pure form, because for many this is just a reason for inaction.   And some are probably simply counting on supplies of relatively cheap natural gas to the country. They say the President went and agreed - we will heat with gas, we don’t need firewood or pellets. But the head of state still insists that we cannot put our eggs in one basket. This applies to both export and diversification of fuel resources and the use of local raw materials. Moreover, considerable investments have been made in this area , both public and private. “Once production is created, they must work. And, of course, not at a loss. And emerging problems must be solved comprehensively and consistently,” Alexander Lukashenko demands. Earlier at an industry meeting, it was established that all issues regarding the activities of pellet production would be resolved before the start of the heating season. It's time to synchronize watches.

Deputy Prime Minister Petr Parkhomchik made a report on this topic at the meeting. In the country, according to him, more than 60 pellet production facilities have been created, of which 60% are state-owned (under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Forestry and Bellesbumprom) and 40% are without departmental subordination. The massive construction of these production facilities was due to two factors: the need to process sawmill and woodworking waste generated during the production process and the high demand for these products in the European Union (market capacity - 12.5 million tons per year). The capacity of the enterprises established in Belarus allows the production of 1 million tons of pellets per year. In 2021, 570 thousand tons of domestic pellets were supplied to Europe. However, from the second half of 2022, the sale of pellets to the European market has become impossible. The government continues to work to find options for supplying pellets to other countries, and is also taking a set of measures to expand the use of pellets in the domestic market. About agricultural services The work of agricultural services became the second issue at the meeting. There are 134 such organizations in the country. They provide agricultural services, transport, repair and other services. Alexander Lukashenko recalled how in Belarus, at his request, a network of agricultural services was restored: “The market came, they decided to destroy all this. I said: no, this should work. And today it is necessary.” The President noted that it is necessary to develop service centers of large Belarusian enterprises on the basis of agricultural service organizations. After all, if such centers are created abroad to service domestic equipment supplied there, then it would be a sin not to have such an opportunity close by, and in every region. There is a material base, specialists, and opportunities for this. “So that they provide services on the spot, and bandits and swindlers - intermediaries - do not bring you any spare parts,” the Belarusian leader noted. The situation, according to the President, is similar with mobile mechanized columns, which were widespread in Soviet times and whose potential must be preserved and developed, especially at the district level. “Restore them. We have 200 thousand hectares that need to be restored through land reclamation. Who will do this? These MMPK (inter-district mobile mechanized columns. - BELTA note),” explained Alexander Lukashenko. In addition to performing a whole range of work - from minor assistance to the population in the repair of agricultural equipment to more global land reclamation tasks - the development of the PMC also provides additional jobs and employment opportunities in rural areas. But strict payment discipline is needed, Alexander Lukashenko demands, because the parent company Belagroservice already received unprecedented support in 2019 .

Continuing the conversation about the agricultural industry, the President warned the responsible persons about the need for timely payments to peasants and agricultural organizations for the supplied products. “As of August 1, there should be no debt for either MILK or MEAT. Take the money that you stole from the swindlers and give it to the peasants for the products supplied,” said the head of state.

As explainedMinister of Agriculture and Food Sergei Bartosh, following the meeting, the debt of Belagroservice arose due to the failure of individual enterprises to repay debts for previously supplied equipment. Previously, a decree was adopted that helped to restructure the debt and provide installment plans, but not all regions were able to do this. The President sent the draft of the new document, which was discussed at the meeting, for revision in order to “put everyone on an equal footing.”

Another decision was made regarding agricultural service enterprises. The head of state approved the proposal to allow agricultural organizations to purchase spare parts supplied by Belagroservice enterprises from a single source. This will allow you not to carry out lengthy procurement procedures and competitive bidding, but to quickly purchase the necessary spare parts from Belagroservice. About the satellite communication and broadcasting system
The third important issue concerned the satellite communication and broadcasting system. The head of state recalled that the communications satellite was successfully performing its functions in 2016 and after its launch into orbit and commissioning of the ground complex.

The President named the commercialization and payback of this project as the main task at the moment. “The satellite was launched not only to use it in their own interests. But even if it is in their own interests, you have to pay for the satellite,” Alexander Lukashenko noted.

In 2020, a decree of the head of state was adopted, which determined the procedure for fulfilling financial obligations under the project “Creation of a national satellite communication and broadcasting system of the Republic of Belarus.” The government proposed to adjust this document. However, the President was critical of the possible adjustment of the order if it concerns additional financial costs. “What does it mean to adjust? Money again. There will be no money. And you will perform your function as I once instructed you,” the head of state said.
Chairman of the State Military-Industrial Committee Dmitry Pantus reported to the President on this issue. According to him, the satellite communication and broadcasting system is operating in the prescribed manner, all technical aspects are normal. “In accordance with the established procedure, we provide satellite communication services to all law enforcement agencies of Belarus and beyond. We are working together with the Ministry of Information to distribute public broadcasting channels. This work will continue in order to increase the commercialization of our national system,” he told reporters following the meeting.

ANTI-CORRUPTION WORKOUT. What examples did Lukashenko use to motivate officials not to take what belongs to others?
As noted above, Alexander Lukashenko began the meeting with the leadership of the Council of Ministers with loud statements on anti-corruption issues.

“To warm up, you need to provide some public information. So that you can imagine how the President’s working day usually begins. It’s sad, but true. I once warned everyone: “It’s better for the poor, beggars in freedom, than the rich in prison.” this phrase is in our state among the people,” the head of state noted. He immediately noted in response to possible idle conversations and reproaches that on the eve of the presidential election he again decided to raise the anti-corruption theme: “That before or during some electoral cycle I mount the anti-corruption horse. Smart journalists have long noticed that Lukashenko has long been on it - 30 years old - sitting."

Alexander Lukashenko recalled that it was he who headed the first anti-corruption commission in the country’s history. “And I haven’t forgotten where I came from. I saw all this injustice. Corruption is the rust of our economy, it causes severe damage to our state. Not only economically, but also politically,” he emphasized.

The President also voiced information on a number of other high-profile corruption cases and especially emphasized that law enforcement agencies do not detain anyone for nothing. And with regard to persons included in the personnel register of the President, all information is first reported to the head of state.

He gets acquainted with this information in the mornings, and now the cup of patience has apparently been filled by the latest fact - the detention of the first deputy head of the Belarusian Railway Pyotr Dulub , against whom the Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case. “ Money worth more than $3.2 million was seized from hiding places in the apartment and in the country house of the defendant ,” the head of state announced the details. Another thing is interesting. Coincidentally, at the same time, the government received a proposal in his name to transfer the Svityaz agricultural enterprise from the Baranovichi branch of the Belarusian Railway. The reasoning is “the railroad has no money.” “If the first deputy had invested in this collective farm , there would be no problems there,” the Belarusian leader reasonably noted.

And in general, Alexander Lukashenko reminded officials - both those who propose and those who agree on such decisions at the regional level - that support for the village is his unconditional and unequivocal demand: “Don’t you hear what I’m saying: we need to help the rural economy! We have selected the entire resource of labor reserves from there. We must assign collective farms to railway workers, enterprises, and so on. I categorically warn you about making decisions.”

Further, the head of state listed a list of corrupt anti-heroes only recently and warned that such a thing would not be a secret in Belarus. "I managed to inoculate the appropriate vaccine for our people, which does not tolerate corruption and theft at all,” the President said.
So, in addition to the first deputy in the Belarusian Railways, Valentin Zaichuk “distinguished himself” as the first deputy chairman of the Brest Regional Executive Committee . “The investigation has been ongoing for six months. For a BRIBE,” confirmed his immediate supervisor, Chairman of the Brest Regional Executive Committee Yuri Shuleiko. “Comrade President, I have made a lot of conclusions on this issue.”
The defendant is accused of receiving remuneration in the form of bribes worth thousands of dollars for a favorable resolution of issues that were within his competence: land plots, allocation of funds, provision of information about agricultural construction projects, and so on.

Another fact is that on January 26 of this year, the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case against former Deputy Minister of Energy Mikhail Mikhadyuk . “The man worked all his life in the ministry. He retired... For a favorable resolution of issues regarding the selection (RIKO Slovenian company) of the above company as a contractor during the construction, reconstruction, modernization of high-voltage substations on the territory of Belarus. That is, the substation is on you, go modernize, but you give me a bribe. Tens of thousands of dollars,” the President announced the details. In early February, the Prosecutor General’s Office opened a criminal case against Pavel Vazhnik , who recently headed the Minsk enterprise “Goravtomost”, and previously worked in a responsible position in the structure “ Gorremavtodor of the Minsk City Executive Committee." “Since July 2023, he has collected tens of thousands of dollars in bribes ,” said the head of state.

Alexander Lukashenko continued: “ We have heard a lot about Brylo (former assistant to the President for the Vitebsk region and ex-Minister of Agriculture and Food Igor Brylo - BELTA note) . I will not remind or repeat. Three dozen people have been involved today ."
Finally, one more fact concerns the First Deputy Manager of the Presidential Administration Dmitry Rybko . “The bribe-taker, there’s no place to put a stamp. He’s sitting,” the President said.

Alexander Lukashenko not only named the names of the corrupt officials, but also, taking into account their high positions, raised the logical question of how much one can trust their superior leaders, including the meeting participants.

“I won’t persuade you or ask you any more. Step left, step right - we’ll put you up against the wall. I’m telling you publicly. How to solve some issues is just a disaster: you define the issues yourself, set the tasks yourself and go check them yourself and then do it instead you. The last conversation with you. Whatever the election campaign, I already told you sometimes. I’m not particularly worried about whether you will support me or not. I will find a common language with them. “I have been finding a common language with him for three decades. But think about who you will work with,” the Belarusian leader harshly warned.
