In Chuvashia, all 14 dairy breeding livestock organizations have been completely converted to the Holstein breed

In Chuvashia, 7 breeding farms - SPK Komintern, SPK Novy Put, SPK Krasnoye Znamya, SPK im. Suvorova, SPK KOLKHOZ im. Lenin, AO Churachikskoye and AO AF Kusnar have completed the breed inventory of dairy cattle herds and the transfer from Black-and-White to Holstein breeds. Now, all 14 dairy cattle breeding organizations in the republic only keep Holsteins.
"Holstein cows are among the most productive in the world. We conduct such an inventory to confirm the status of the breeding farm and determine the breed of the animals being bred. The farms analyzed animals in four generations. The Holstein breed is a guarantee of good performance indicators of cattle. Breeding value is information about the genotype, productivity data (fat, protein, MILK yield), the number of offspring and other information. “It is important that agricultural organizations monitor this,” commented Olimpiada Sverchkova, HEAD of the Livestock and Breeding Department of the Ministry of Agriculture of Chuvashia.
The republic’s livestock breeding base is currently represented by 23 breeding organizations: 14 for dairy cattle breeding; 1 for poultry farming; 1 for horse breeding; 1 for fish farming.
A set of measures for the breed inventory of dairy cattle is being implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture of Chuvashia and JSC Chuvashskoye for breeding work.
By the way, Chuvashia fully meets the population’s needs for basic food products, including producing milk 1.5 times higher than the consumption level.
Earlier, the Deputy Prime Minister,Minister of Agriculture of Chuvashia Sergey Artamonov, noted that "agricultural organizations that are engaged in selection and breeding work make a significant contribution to the development of livestock breeding in the region. We will continue to pay attention to selection and genetics, personnel, agricultural exports, provision of equipment and veterinary drugs within the framework of the implementation of the new national project "Technological Support of Food Security", the strategy "Agropromotion".
