Sharip Sharipov, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Dagestan, visited the Kizlyar region on May 4 to get acquainted with the progress of rice sowing. Accompanied by the HEAD of the Department of Agriculture Raisat Alilova and the leading researcher of the FARC RD Magomed Baratov, he visited a number of leading rice-growing farms.
LLC "Marenovsky" was the first in the republic to start sowing rice. According to the head of the farm, Magomedamir Omarov, last year there were 1,400 hectares under rice. This year, if there are sufficient volumes of water, we intend to sow no less than last year. Active work on plowing and planning checks continues. And those areas that have been sown are already being flooded. More than 150 hectares of rice have been sown so far.
For the second day, rice sowing has been carried out in JSC "Kizlyaragrokompleks", so far 60 hectares have been sown. According to the deputy head of the enterprise, Mavled Khizriyev, this year it is planned to sow 2,000 hectares of rice, while last year it was 1,400 hectares. The construction of 600 hectares of modern engineered rice systems is nearing completion, the fields of which have not been cultivated for decades in the village of Kokhanovka. The main work has been carried out, the soil is being prepared, seeds are available.
As Raisat Alilova noted, this year, rice growers of the Kizlyar region, subject to the availability of water, will be able to increase rice crops by 2,000 hectares, including LLC Kizlyar Uritsky MEAT Processing Plant, LLC Sirius, LLC Agrofirma Areshevka, etc. Seeds are available, the necessary preparation soil is produced. Rice growers are determined to fulfill the task set before us.
Commenting on what he saw, the First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Dagestan noted that in 2021 the area under rice in the republic amounted to 27 thousand hectares. This is almost 43.5% more than in 2016. In recent years, with the involvement of state support, a lot of work has been done in the republic on the construction and reconstruction of rice engineering systems. As a result, Dagestan rice growers managed to significantly increase the sown area and yields of white grain. Last year, 119 thousand tons of rice were harvested - a record harvest in the history of rice cultivation in Dagestan.
“This year, the Ministry of Agriculture of RUSSIA has set a task for us to increase the area under rice by at least 2.5 thousand hectares. The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic is carrying out the necessary work with leading rice growers in order to identify reserves and resources, as well as to identify problematic issues that need to be addressed in order to fulfill this important task. It is gratifying that the rice growers of Dagestan reacted with understanding, the first forecast data say that we will complete the task. When solving this issue, rice growers of the republic are aimed at overfulfilling the task set before us. Farms have seeds, equipment is ready, prepared soils are available.
