In 2024 , poultry farms in the Saratov Region increased egg production by 29%. "This year, poultry farms in the region are showing growth in egg production. In January 2024, farms of all types produced 72.9 million eggs, or 118.3% of last year's level, including poultry farms, which produced 53 million, a 29% increase compared to the same period in 2023," said Alexey Molchanov, Deputy Minister of Agriculture for Livestock Development.
The regional Ministry of Agriculture emphasizes that the increase in commercial egg production is largely due to the ongoing reconstruction and modernization of production facilities.
Specifically, at the Pokrovskaya Poultry Farm (part of the Saratov-Ptitsa agricultural holding), work is nearly complete on young stock shed No. 18, which can accommodate 65,000 birds. Local floor repairs have been completed, the roof has been replaced, and modern cage equipment has been installed. Renovation of the farm building has been completed. This summer, the facility will house day-old Lohmann LSL chickens.
"After transferring the grown pullets to the commercial chicken facility, egg production will increase by 10 million eggs annually," said Evgeny Gushchin, General DIRECTOR
of the Pokrovskaya Poultry Farm. Buildings 23, 24, and 25 are also undergoing renovation. The latter is 40% complete. In addition to renovations, electrical wiring and a ventilation system must be installed, and the farm building must be updated. The facility is designed for commercial chickens.
After the renovation, egg production at the Pokrovskaya Poultry Farm will increase by 10%.
