The dynamics of seasonal field work in Russia was discussed today in the Lipetsk region at a field meeting of the operational headquarters of the Ministry of Agriculture for monitoring the situation in the agro-industrial complex and the food market. The meeting was chaired by the Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev, who paid a working visit to the region.
The head of the department noted that in most regions, harvesting and winter sowing have already been completed. Nevertheless, the work continues: the crop is still to be harvested from about 1 million hectares, mainly in the Far East, Urals and North Caucasus federal districts. Grain has already received 124.4 million tons, oilseeds - more than 23 million tons. Vegetables in the organized sector - 4.9 million tons, potatoes - 6.6 million tons, sugar beet - more than 39 million tons. Winter crops are sown on an area of 18.8 million hectares.
Separately, Dmitry Patrushev dwelled on the joint work with the regions on planning crop production. In particular, he drew attention to the need for a detailed analysis of plans for sown areas for 2022.
One of the main topics of the meeting was the provision of farmers with mineral fertilizers. “As you know, the Government is taking a whole range of measures to ensure stability in this segment. In particular, from December 1, a temporary quantitative restriction is introduced on the export of certain types of fertilizers. We expect that due to this, that is, during the period of the resolution, farmers will acquire the amount of fertilizer they need at affordable prices,” the head of the Ministry of Agriculture emphasized.
As part of a working trip to the Lipetsk region, Dmitry Patrushev will also visit a number of agricultural enterprises today. In particular, the Minister will get acquainted with the work of a high-tech greenhouse complex, inspect a production and logistics center with a storage capacity of 25 thousand tons of apples and a large dairy enterprise.
