Taking into account the requirements of the Federal Scientific and Technical Program for the Development of Agriculture and the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation “On measures to implement the state scientific and technical policy in the interests of the development of agriculture”, projects are being implemented in the region with the participation of specialized agricultural universities, research institutes and the business community.
One of the directions of the program is the subprogram "Development of the production of feed and feed additives for animals." Implementation implies grant support for all participants in order to create competitive domestic feed and feed additives for farm animals.
Voronezh State Agrarian University named after Emperor Peter I (as scientific support) and IstAgroDon LLC (as an industrial partner) have started preparing a passport for a comprehensive scientific and technical project on the topic “Development of the production of domestic feed and feed additives for farm animals based on competitive natural raw materials in the conditions of the Central Black Earth region.
As an end result of the application being prepared, it is envisaged to obtain copyright for intellectual property and organize the production of innovative feed additives based on secondary products of Jerusalem artichoke processing for farm animals.
“The Jerusalem artichoke processing plant of the IstAgro Don company is an example of the development of a “green economy”, a real flagship in the implementation of the principles of carbon farming,” says Oleg Dolgikh, HEAD of the Lipetsk Region Agriculture Department. The company started operations at the end of last year. The plant will produce food inulin, fructooligosaccharides and high fructose syrup, dietary fiber and functional products based on them, as well as highly nutritious dry feed for livestock.
