Zakharova threatened the West with a "boomerang" after the sanctions against Russia

Countries imposing sanctions against Russia because of the operation in Ukraine should be prepared for the fact that the restrictions will hit them themselves, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on the air of the Rossiya 24 channel.

She believes that all states impose sanctions "at the suggestion of Washington, London and, accordingly, all member countries of NATO as an organization," and the sanctions themselves are illegal and immoral.

“They [sanctions] will respond with an absolute boomerang, hit and are already hitting their own countries, not only in the form of our countermeasures, many of which have not even been developed yet, but simply because the world is interconnected, the economy is globalized,” the Foreign Ministry spokeswoman said. specifying that, first of all, the Euro-Atlantic region will suffer from the sanctions.

According to Zakharova, Western countries themselves launched the process of destroying their own economies. “Already, colossal damage is being done to their financial systems, their economies, their energy security, but let them remember that this blow was not delivered by Russia,” the Foreign Ministry spokeswoman warned.
