SPIEF participants asked the organizers to hide some information about themselves

Against the background of sanctions, some participants of the St. Petersburg Forum asked Roscongress not to indicate information about their place of work on their badges. Besides,

The Roscongress Foundation, which is the organizer of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), is studying participants' requests not to indicate their place of work on their badges. This was announced by a representative of Roscongress in response to a request from RBC.

“The Roscongress Foundation receives requests from participants regarding the possibility not to indicate the organization on the badge, such requests are processed in agreement with the organizing committee [of the forum],” he said.

Five employees of companies participating or considering participating in SPIEF spoke about various options for reducing the amount of information about RBC forum participants. Three of them reported that they even discussed the option not to indicate any information on the badges, but Roscongress denied the existence of such a possibility in its commentary.

Sub-sanctioned companies will be allowed to temporarily not elect the board of directors Politics

“The badge is obligatory for all forum participants and is an identification personal document of the participant for the duration of the forum. it is technically impossible to issue a participant badge without a photo and full name, the fund did not make such offers to the participants, ”said its representative.

For example, a top manager of a large company from the food sector heard about the possibility of not indicating information on the badge. According to him, large Russian companies are interested in such an opportunity, as they are afraid of Western sanctions due to participation in the forum. In addition, some companies pay for participation in the event not directly at Roscongress, but through intermediaries, he added.

Three RBC sources said that forum guests also have the opportunity not to indicate their speakers or company name in the official and public lists of participants. There is a checkbox for this option in the participant's personal account, one of them noted.

Klishas announced attempts to explain "everything and everything" with sanctions and a special operation Politics

Precautions at the forum, which has been taking place in St. Petersburg since the late 1990s, are intensifying in the face of growing sanctions risks for Russian businessmen, top managers and officials. In particular, the European Union explained the sanctions against a number of large entrepreneurs and company executives by the fact that on February 24, the day the Russian military operation in Ukraine began, they were at a meeting with President Vladimir Putin in the Kremlin. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that such a decision "cannot be called anything other than banditry at the international level."

SPIEF has been held under the patronage of the President since 2006, and forum participants must pass an inspection by the Federal Security Service. Each forum, Putin holds a plenary session (usually on the second day of SPIEF), in which, in addition to him, leaders of other countries participate.

The list of this year's SPIEF participants, including foreign ones, has not been published. According to Roscongress, more than 500 Russian companies from more than 65 industries will participate in the forum, 80% of them will be represented at the executive level. The cost of participation in the forum is 960 thousand rubles. The theme of SPIEF is announced as follows: "New World - New Opportunities".

For the first time since 2014, Otkrytiye Bank refused to rent a house at SPIEF Finance

Against the backdrop of sanctions and a special operation, the forum is changing its appearance - many companies are abandoning the traditional parties that they used to organize every year. For example, this year there will be no Otkritie bank apartment in St. Petersburg, where popular Russian rock stars usually perform. Sberbank refused the evening reception, and other organizers are thinking about canceling parties, RBC wrote.
