Zazu, an English breeding horse owned by the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, who was kidnapped from a Czech stable a few months ago, has returned to RUSSIA. Kadyrov wrote about this in his TELEGRAM channel.
“Today my dear and beloved Zazu returned home! Just think, for 9 whole years I have not seen this beautiful horse, my beloved friend, ”said the head of Chechnya.

On May 15, Kadyrov reported that Kyiv staged the theft of Zazu from the Czech stable. According to him, at the beginning of the year, representatives of the Ukrainian special services approached him through intermediaries and offered to buy out Zaza for $18,000 – the horse had been in the Czech Republic since 2014 due to the freezing of the property of the head of Chechnya. Kadyrov estimated the cost of the horse at $10 million.
“The operation to return my Zazu has ended in our favor. At the last moment of the transfer of the horse at the border, the Ukrainian side either conceived something outside the plan, or did not share something among themselves. While representatives of the special services of Ukraine were sorting out relations with each other in the presence of my people, the latter simply took the horse without giving back the money . And they did it right! The horse thieves from the SBU officers are excellent, but the negotiators are not," Kadyrov said.
He also said that, judging by the condition of the horse, he was not well looked after. “I’m sure they saved a lot on its maintenance. The gait is no longer the same, the sides and back do not shine and do not play in the light. And these are only the first conspicuous signs that are not related to the age of the horse. Sanctions are sanctions, but why did the animal have to suffer,” the head of the region asked himself.

According to law enforcement agencies, the thief "removed the chain with a carbine from the sliding door and took away the breeding stallion." Then Kadyrov was surprised by what happened: “In our republic, a car can be left open for the night, and then someone takes the sanctioned horse out of the corral, and the law enforcement officers find out about it only after a few days.”
According to Jezdci.cz, Kadyrov bought the horse in 2012. In total, the stallion participated in 36 races, won nine of them and earned more than €1.2 million.
The European Union imposed sanctions against Kadyrov in July 2014. He was accused of "actions that threaten the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine." The head of Chechnya responded to this by creating his own sanctions list against EU officials and the US president. In 2017, Kadyrov spoke about attempts to lift sanctions from his racehorses, including Zazu.
