The authorities announced a new postponement of the Yalta Economic Forum

The Yalta International Economic Forum has not been held since 2019,it was postponed several times due to the coronavirus and the "unstable environment"

The Yalta International Economic Forum will be postponed to the second quarter of 2023, the head of the Crimea Sergey Aksyonov said in his telegram channel. He signed a corresponding order, published on the website of the Crimean government.

The forum was last held before the pandemic, in 2019. In mid-February 2022, it was rescheduled for autumn due to a spike in COVID-19 cases . “It’s impossible to plan for the spring, the peak of the incidence has passed, but it’s still quite high,” Georgy Muradov, Permanent Representative of Crimea to the President of Russia, explained, emphasizing that the event was not postponed because of “tension around.”

In April, Aksyonov announced the postponement of the YIEF to the fourth quarter of 2022 “due to the unstable international situation,” and in the fall it was canceled without specific explanations. Muradov said that it would be rescheduled for next year.

Yalta Economic Forum postponed for a year Economics

YIEF has been held every year since 2015. It was visited by businessmen from Europe, Latin America, Africa, as well as the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DNR). The last time at the forum in 2019 was the head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, who offered foreigners to cooperate with Donbass companies.

In total, 4.5 thousand people participated in the last forum, including more than 800 foreign delegates from 89 countries. According to the results of YIEF-2019, 102 documents were signed for a total amount of 215 billion rubles.
