In Russia, 57,212 new cases of coronavirus infection were detected per day, the operational headquarters reports. This is a record number of cases per day in Russia for the entire pandemic.

The largest number of cases was detected in Moscow (16,094 cases), St. Petersburg (8,451 cases) and the Moscow Region (6,400 cases).

More than 800 cases were also recorded in eight regions of Russia:

Nizhny Novgorod region - 1,358; Yakutia - 1,003; Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug - 947; Samara region - 863; Rostov region - 838; Sverdlovsk region - 823; Stavropol Territory - 807; Krasnodar Territory - 805.

In total, 9,902 people were hospitalized per day, which is 8.4% more than on January 21.
