Aeroflot announced the suspension of pilots who refused to be

vaccinated. The union said it was causing "social tension" and pushing pilots to quit.

Six Aeroflot pilots were suspended from work at different times and sent on vacation without pay, as they refused to be vaccinated against the CORONAVIRUS, Mikhail Demin, a spokesman for the airline, told RBC.

He recalled that in total Aeroflot employs 2.3 thousand pilots.

The dismissal was announced on Monday by the Sheremetyevo Aircrew Trade Union. In a message addressed to Aeroflot CEO Mikhail Poluboyarinov, trade union president Igor Deldyuzhov recalled that the airline had carried out information work among staff on the prevention of covid-19, as prescribed by Rospotrebnadzor. As a result, 84% of employees took root there.

Unvaccinated pilots are issued unpaid suspension orders, "although no one has ordered the employer to take such measures," the union said. And unvaccinated employees of other Aeroflot departments continue to work, which activists called discrimination.
