Ex-mayor of Sterlitamak Vladimir Kulikov dies

Former mayor of Sterlitamak Vladimir Kulikov died in hospital. This was reported to RBC Ufa by a source in the city administration. He did not specify the diagnosis with which the ex-official was hospitalized. The Ministry of HEALTH of Bashkiria confirmed this information.

Vladimir Kulikov has headed the administration of Sterlitamak since 2016. He announced his resignation on October 8, saying that the decision to resign was not spontaneous. A few days later, local media reported that the ex-mayor had been hospitalized with covid-19 .

Currently, the duties of the HEAD of the city are performed by Rustem Gazizov. Previously, he served as vice-mayor of Ufa.

Vladimir Kulikov was born in March 1966 in Sterlitamak. Graduated from UGNTU and BASU. He began his career as a mechanic at the local Avangard plant, and worked there after serving in the army. Since 1992, Kulikov worked in the city administration, first as a leading specialist, and then as head of the youth policy department. From 2008 to 2009, he served as DIRECTOR of the Luksstroy company, from 2010 to 2012 he headed the MBU "Military Patriotic Association" Fatherland ". From 2012 to 2016, he worked as deputy head of the Sterlitamak mayor's office, then he headed the administration.
