Mexican President tests positive for COVID-19 for third time

Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador has tested positive for COVID-19 , his third time infected with the coronavirus. The head of state announced this on Twitter, adding that the form of the disease is “not serious”.

“My heart is working 100% and since I had to put the tour on hold, I'm in Mexico City <...>. I will save myself a few days, ”he wrote, adding that Mexican Interior Minister Adan Augusto Lopez Hernandez will host the morning events instead.

The first time a Mexican leader fell ill with COVID-19 was at the end of January 2021. Then he had mild symptoms, while he instructed Olga Sanchez Cordero to represent himself, who at that time held the post of Minister of the Interior of the country.

Obrador's second case of coronavirus was in January 2022, when he also showed mild symptoms of the disease. The President decided to go into self-isolation and work online.
