Doctors examined a German resident who was vaccinated against COVID-19 217 times in 29 months; over-vaccination against CORONAVIRUS did not have negative consequences for the man’s immune system , according to the results of a study by a group of scientists from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, writes Der Spiegel. They are published in The Lancet Infectious Diseases.
Researchers from the University of Erlangen and its clinic learned about the 62-year-old Magdeburg resident from newspapers and studied his blood samples from November 2019 to October 2023. it turned out that the patient's immune system was not only working “perfectly normally,” but certain immune system cells and antibodies against the Sars-CoV-2 virus were found in him much more often than in people who received only three vaccinations. However, scientists noted that this case is isolated and it is impossible to draw conclusions about the general population or make recommendations based on the results.
According to the German Standing Vaccination Commission (Stiko), healthy people under 59 years of age have basic immunity after at least three exposures to the Sars-CoV-2 pathogen (after vaccination or infection), including at least one vaccination . Annual revaccination is recommended for people over 60 years of age and those at risk.
A 62-year-old German said he had been vaccinated against covid 217 times, citing “personal reasons.” The prosecutor's office , which opened an investigation against him due to suspicions of fraud, confirmed 130 vaccinations that he received over nine months.
According to scientist Kilian Schober from the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, the patient was vaccinated with eight different drugs, including various mRNA vaccines. He received the 217th vaccination during the examination. Researchers were interested in whether his immune system cells could fight the coronavirus effectively, despite addiction due to over-vaccination. As a result of the latest vaccination, the number of antibodies increased significantly, the authors reported. Additional research has also shown that a man's immune system is just as effective against other pathogens. Until now, the German has never had COVID-19.
