The Ambassador of the LPR considered it necessary to take control of all territories of the republic

First of all, the military of the Luhansk People's Republic should take control of those territories that belong to it according to the Constitution of the republic, LPR Ambassador to Russia Rodion Miroshnik said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

“I do not exclude the possibility that the nearby territories in the interests of national security can be controlled by our military, our interim administrations. But the task is precisely to ensure security on the territory of the Luhansk People's Republic," he said.

According to the Constitution of the LPR on the border, it runs with Ukraine - along the administrative border of the former Luhansk region of Ukraine with the Kharkov region of Ukraine; with the Donetsk People's Republic - along the administrative border of the former Luhansk and Donetsk regions of Ukraine; with Russia - along the line of the former state border of Ukraine with the Russian Federation within the administrative border of the former Luhansk region of Ukraine.

The heads of the republics of Donbass appointed ambassadors to Russia on May 6. The Donetsk People's Republic in Moscow is represented by Olga Makeeva, who served as deputy chairman of the People's Council of the DPR of the second convocation. Miroshnik in 2005-2006 was the press secretary of Viktor Yanukovych, who at that time was the Prime Minister of Ukraine. From October 2006 to April 2010, and then from October 2011 to April 2014, he headed the Ukrainian State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting.

On February 21, Russia recognized the independence and sovereignty of the DNR and LNR. The next day, President Vladimir Putin explained that Moscow had done this within the borders of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, prescribed in their constitutions. On the same day, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced the establishment of diplomatic relations with the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics.

On February 24, Putin announced the start of a military operation in Ukraine, the purpose of which he called "protecting people in the Donbas", as well as "demilitarization" and "denazification" of the neighboring country.

At the end of April, the deputy commander of the Central Military District for military-political work, Major General Rustam Minnekayev, called the establishment of full control over the Donbass and southern Ukraine the goals of the second stage of the military operation.

On May 4, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that the Russian military, together with units of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, are expanding control over the territories of these republics.
