The operational headquarters reported an increase in the incidence of COVID-19 over the week by almost 33%

The incidence of COVID-19 in Russia increased over the week (from November 20 to November 26) by almost 33%, reports the operational headquarters.

“The incidence rate of a new coronavirus infection over the past week per 100 thousand population was 54.47 and increased by 32.8% compared to the previous week,” the report says. An increase in incidence was recorded in 79 regions of Russia.

8,018 people were hospitalized, an increase of 25.3% compared to the previous week. The number of hospitalizations increased in 66 regions. 

Meanwhile, 54,797 people have recovered, an increase of 37.9% compared to the previous week. 

 In total , 77,106 people fell ill with COVID during this period . 90 deaths were confirmed, the operational headquarters reported.

In early November, the head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova announced the deterioration of the epidemic situation with coronavirus infection in Russia. According to her, the disease mainly spreads in Moscow, the region and St. Petersburg , which accounts for 31% of all cases.

Popova also noted that ten cases of the new subvariant of the coronavirus “Pirola” have been registered in Russia.
