Retail trade turnover in Bashkiria since the beginning of the year amounted to ₽264.5 billion

The retail trade turnover in Bashkiria in January-March 2022 amounted to 264.5 billion rubles, which is 3.7% higher than the same period in 2021, follows from the Rosstat report “The socio-economic situation in Russia in the first quarter”. In March, the retail turnover amounted to 96.8 billion rubles - an increase of 6.9% compared to February, and 4.7% compared to March last year.

In the Volga Federal District in the first quarter, the retail turnover amounted to 1.7 trillion rubles, which is 3.1% higher than last year. In terms of revenue from the sale of goods to the population, Bashkiria ranks second in the Volga Federal District, second only to Tatarstan (286.6 billion rubles). In third place in the district is the Nizhny Novgorod region, where the indicator was at the level of 233.2 billion rubles.

In the first three months of 2022, the maximum growth in retail trade turnover in the Volga Federal District was registered in Nizhny Novgorod (by 9.1%), Saratov regions (by 5.2%) and Udmurtia (by 5.1%). In three regions, the indicators decreased - the Ulyanovsk Region (by 0.4%), the Perm Territory (by 0.6%) and the Penza Region (by 7.8%).

In March, the revenue of trade enterprises grew in all regions of the district, except for the Orenburg region (a decrease of 1.9%). The maximum dynamics was demonstrated by Mordovia (growth by 11.8%), Ulyanovsk region (by 8.8%) and Penza region (by 7%).

In the country as a whole, the retail trade turnover in the first quarter amounted to 10.2 trillion rubles, which is 3.6% higher than last year's level. In March, the indicator increased by 5.8% compared to February.

Retail turnover - revenue from the sale of goods to the public for personal consumption or use in the household for cash or paid for by credit cards, bank checks, etc.

As RBC Ufa reported, at the end of 2021, the retail trade turnover in Bashkiria exceeded 1 trillion rubles for the first time. The revenue of trading companies in the republic last year turned out to be 3.5% more than in 2020, when the retail trade turnover amounted to 911.1 billion rubles.
