The Ministry of HEALTH has developed a system for operational monitoring and analysis of the indicator “years of life lost” (YLL) in various regions of Russia and throughout the country. The creation of the system was carried out by the Center for Expertise and Quality Control of Medical Care of the Ministry of Health, you can familiarize yourself with its work here.
The authors of the system noted that the Years of Life Lost (YLL) indicator was developed by the World Health Organization (WHO) to assess premature deaths. “It shows the number of years lost from premature death based on the projected limit of life expectancy for the population by 2050, which is 92 years,” the project description says.
The model for calculating YLL, which was used in the Ministry of Health, makes it possible to analyze the situation by diseases and age groups, both at the level of the whole country and for each region.
In Russia, the leaders in terms of “years of life lost” were the following regions:
Chukotka — 7.76 Chechnya — 7.18 Nenets Autonomous Okrug — 7.17 Tyva — 7.16 Orenburg Region — 6.91
