Plane with parachutists crashed in Tatarstan
Light twin-engine aircraft L-410 belonged to the Menzelinsky branch of the Central Aeroclub of Tatarstan DOSAAF of Russia. On board were two pilots and 20 paratroopers, 16 people died, six were injured.
video According to the President of the Republic, Rustam Minnikhanov, after takeoff, the pilots reported the failure of one of the engines. According to sources of news agencies, overload, aircraft malfunction and crew error are considered as possible reasons. Investigators opened a case under Part 3 of Art. 263 of the Criminal Code (violation of the rules of traffic safety and operation of air transport, negligently resulting in the death of two or more persons). All L-410 flights have been suspended pending investigation. October 11 is declared a day of mourning in Tatarstan. Minnikhanov instructed to provide assistance to the families of the victims.
