The epidemiological situation in the Nizhny Novgorod region has stabilized

Meanwhile, fatality rates in the region are still close to peak values.

The epidemiological situation in the Nizhny Novgorod region has stabilized, the region is on a plateau in the CORONAVIRUS. This was stated at today's briefing by Deputy Governor and Minister of HEALTH of the region David Melik-Huseinov.

"The plateau is determined by three criteria - morbidity, hospitalization and mortality. In terms of morbidity and hospitalization, we really stabilized the situation and even see a slight decrease in these indicators. According to the third indicator - mortality - the situation is still tense. But this is expected: the peak of mortality usually occurs in two weeks after the peak of the incidence. Now we are at the peak of mortality, but I am sure that in the near future the mortality rate will decrease, there are prerequisites for this, "the HEAD of the regional Ministry of Health explained the situation.

Melik-Huseinov noted that additional non-working days announced in the region contributed to the stabilization of the situation. The decrease in incidence began already on the third day, and on the sixth day it became a steady trend. Among office workers, the incidence decreased by 10%, among industrial workers - by 11%, among trade workers - by 24%.

"The balance reached is very fragile, only vaccination will help to avoid a new rise in the incidence and the fifth wave," the Minister of Health stressed.

The head of the regional Rospotrebnadzor, Natalia Kucherenko, said that, according to the order of the chief sanitary DOCTOR of the Nizhny Novgorod region, by November 9, enterprises and organizations had to ensure that employees were vaccinated at the level of 80%. The information provided is currently being verified.
