The global community must learn from the covid-19 pandemic and prepare for a new one. This was stated by the HEAD of the World HEALTH Organization (WHO) Tedros Ghebreyesus at a meeting of G20 finance and health ministers in Rome.

“Even if we end this pandemic, we must learn the lessons it teaches us and prepare for the next one,” he said.

According to him, the emergence of another virus is undeniable from the point of view of biology. In this regard, Ghebreyesus called on the global community and members of the G20 (G20) to support the conclusion of a legally binding international agreement on preparing for and responding to pandemics. A decision in this regard is planned to be taken at a special session of the World Health Assembly scheduled for November.

In mid-September, MICROSOFT founder Bill Gates, who warned of a pandemic several years ago, said that humanity was not ready for a new epidemic. According to him, the world is not doing enough to prepare for a new pandemic.
