Gunzburg named a way to treat severe patients with COVID-19

Patients who are severely ill with CORONAVIRUS are given medication in the form of a liquid, and those who are ill with a mild to moderate form are given in the form of tablets. This was announced by the DIRECTOR of the National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology named after N.F. Gamalei Alexander Gintsburg, RIA Novosti reports.

“There is no final understanding. But, based on general considerations, if they are seriously ill, then this is usually a liquid, because it is injected. If these are patients of moderate severity or mild patients, then these are, as a rule, tablets, ”Gintsburg said.

According to him, it all depends on the pharmacokinetics (the study of the processes that occur with the drug in the human body. -), the drug that is administered to patients and how it is absorbed.

On November 12, a drug for covid-19 for injections was registered in Russia. The drug is called Areplivir. The press service of the developer of the drug, Promomed Group, reported that the drug would be delivered to hospitals in all Russian regions by the end of the year. Areplivir also exists in tablets, approved by the Ministry of HEALTH in June 2020.
