Integration of the exchange mechanism into mutual trade between Belarus and Zimbabwe will open up new opportunities for business entities of the two countries and will contribute to the realization of the potential of Belarusian-Zimbabwean trade and economic cooperation. This was stated by Charge d'Affaires of the Republic of Zimbabwe in the Republic of Belarus Kudakwashe Lawrence Goniwa during a visit to the central office of the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange, BUTB press secretary Roman Yaniv told a BELTA correspondent.

According to the diplomat, the intensification of political and economic contacts between Belarus and Zimbabwe is not accidental, since both countries have faced similar difficulties and challenges when working in foreign markets, and combining efforts, including in the field of exchange trading, will make it possible to successfully overcome them.

“The strategic course for strengthening trade relations between Belarus and Zimbabwe was set by the presidents of our countries, therefore, in principle, we are interested in everything that will help achieve this goal. And the exchange can play a key role in this regard. After all, Belarus is an export-oriented state with a high level of development industry and agriculture, and the favorable geographical location of Zimbabwe makes our country an ideal center for the distribution of Belarusian goods throughout the African continent. Thus, the organization of interaction between Belarusian and Zimbabwean companies through the exchange platform will not only ensure the growth of mutual trade turnover, but will also simplify the access of Belarusian producers to markets of third countries,” says Kudakwashe Lawrence Goniwa.

As a result of the negotiations, it is planned to organize a visit to BUCE by a delegation of Zimbabwean business circles as part of the official visit to Minsk of Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa, which will take place in 2024 . Among the promising product areas for development, agricultural and metallurgical products have been identified. In particular, the possibility of using exchange trading to EXPORT Belarusian dairy products, rapeseed oil and SUGAR to Zimbabwe is being considered. As for import transactions, for this purpose Zimbabwean suppliers of non-ferrous metals, cotton and fruits and vegetables will be attracted to BUCE.
