In January-August 2021, Ukraine imported 33.2 thousand tons of cheese, which is 13% more than in the same period last year.
This is evidenced by the data of the State Customs Service.
In monetary terms, cheese imports for eight months amounted to $ 155.6 thousand tons - 20.7% more than for the same period in 2020.
Cheese was imported to Ukraine mainly from Poland ($59.5 million), Germany ($33.5 million), the Netherlands ($14.9 million).
The volume of exports of Ukrainian cheeses for the eight months of 2021 amounted to 4.4 thousand tons, which is 24.5% more than in the same period last year.
In monetary terms, exports in January-August brought in $16.5 million, which is 19.8% more than in the same period in 2020.
The largest buyers of domestic cheeses in January-August 2021 were Kazakhstan ($7.8 million), Moldova ($5.8 million), and Azerbaijan ($744.6 thousand).
