Cabbage and beet prices went up in May, cucumbers and tomatoes fell in price

June 10, MINSK. Prices for cabbage and beet rose in May, while cucumbers and tomatoes fell in price, BelTA informs citing data from the National Statistical Committee.

Cabbage went up by 20.95%, beets - 15.84%, carrots - 14.87%, potatoes - 11.52%, pears - 8.58%, grapes - 7.77%, citrus fruits - 4.9%, onion - 4.62%, garlic - 2.56%, pepper - 2.36%. Cucumbers became cheaper by 38.07%, tomatoes - by 10.89%, bananas - by 2.44%.

In general, vegetables became cheaper by 7.2%, fruits went up by 5.26%. MEAT and meat products became more expensive by 1.48%, fish and fish products - by 0.51%, bread and bakery products - by 0.29%. MILK and dairy products fell in price by 0.08%.

Lunches in the canteen became more expensive by 2.51%. In restaurants and cafes, they rose in price by 0.19%, fast food - by 0.82%.

Tobacco products rose in price by 0.33%, alcoholic beverages - by 0.41%.

Non-food products in May became more expensive by 0.84%. Clothes went up by 1.14%, shoes - by 2.32%, furniture - by 0.21%, textiles - by 1.59%, electrical goods - by 0.68%, building materials - by 0.95%, medicines - by 0.64%.

The cost of services decreased by 0.22%. In May, services of circuses (35.86%), railway transport (3.2%), museums (2.55%), manicure (1.99%), dry cleaning (1.79%), clothing repair (1.5%), 57%), tailoring (1.33%), hairdressing services (1.32%). Tourist services (6.47%), air transport (1.12%), insurance (0.77%), hostels (0.16%), hotels (0.05%) became cheaper.

As reported, inflation in Belarus in May amounted to 0.6%.
