28 May, MINSK . Brest Region retains its leadership in MILK production, but to maintain this position, it is necessary to continue systematic work. This was announced by Chairman of the Brest Regional Executive Committee Petr Parkhomchik on the air of the "Conversation with the President" program on the TV channel, BELTA reports.
"The result is very significant. We receive almost 6900 tons of milk per day. That is, this is the best result. It is also very important to note that 9 of our 16 districts today have a milk yield per cow of more than 23 kg," the chairman noted. All produced milk is in demand and is processed into high-quality products with high added value, which are in steady demand. "Even in these four months, the growth rate of our product exports to the People's Republic of CHINA has grown by 127%. This shows that a high-quality product, a good product always finds its consumer," emphasized Petr Parkhomchik.
Commenting on the development of the dairy industry, he noted that the region is actively modernizing and building new farms: "Last year we produced more than 60 farms. This year, the figure is within 50-55 farms, which we will build new, modernize. Ten farms are being built within the framework of the Presidential decree."

At the same time, the HEAD of the region noted that issues of livestock safety remain a special focus. "There is such a concept - the coefficient to the total herd. We have the minimum. In the republic - 0.7. But we are absolutely not saying that this is good. We are saying that we need to work in this direction, so new farms are being founded. We are doing everything possible to ensure effective control," summed up Petr Parkhomchik.
