Minsk . Trade in food and agricultural raw materials between Belarus and Pakistan increased by 36.5% in
2024 compared to 2023, with Belarusian exports growing particularly significantly, by 39.5%, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food told BELTA.
Dry baby food accounts for the largest share of domestic food exports to Pakistan (over 60%). Last year, leading Belarusian enterprises tripled
milk and dairy product exports to Pakistan.
The Ministry of Agriculture reported that a memorandum of understanding on halal product quality assurance was signed between the Belarusian Center for Standardization and Certification "BelHalal" and the National Accreditation Council of Pakistan in November of last year. The signing of this document officially launched the accreditation process for BelHalal as a halal product quality assurance body.
"The Belarusian agro-industrial complex intends to further develop cooperation with Pakistan's business community. Plans include increasing
exports of baby food, increasing supply volumes, and expanding the range of exported products: skim milk powder, whey powder, condensed milk,
sugar, rapeseed oil,
flour, beef, and poultry," the Ministry of Agriculture and Food commented. "We are conducting detailed negotiations on organizing the supply of Belarusian veterinary drugs and are also collaborating with the Pakistani side to exchange experience in establishing a testing and certification center for agricultural machinery."
