The EXPORT of Belarusian products to
CHINA via the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange increased by 1.6 times to $129.3 million in
2024 , the BUCE press service told BELTA. The largest volume of transactions was for forestry products, namely, softwood lumber. In addition, powdered
MILK ,
butter , dry milk cream, and semi-finished beef products were actively supplied to the Chinese market via exchange trading last year . This year, Chinese
business continues to show increased interest in Belarusian goods, and exchange transactions totaling $3.7 million have already been made in the first two weeks of January. This information was shared by the
HEAD of the BUCE representative office in China, Aleksey Dykusha, during a meeting with the Belarusian delegation consisting of First Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Lukashevich, Deputy Finance Minister Pavel Lemekh, and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to China Alexander Chervyakov. The event focused on discussing the prospects for developing trade and economic cooperation between Belarus and China, including the role of exchange trading in ensuring positive dynamics in mutual trade between the two countries. According to Aleksey Dykusha, more than 250 Chinese companies have already been accredited at BUCE, which is twice as many as in June 2023, when the exchange opened its office in Shanghai. At the same time, many of the PRC residents attracted by the representative office participate in exchange trading on a regular basis, concluding both import and export contracts. "The main objective of the representative office is to ensure the growth of exchange trade turnover between Belarus and
China , working in two key areas. On the one hand, this is an increase in sales of Belarusian goods on the Chinese market, and on the other hand, facilitating the import of Chinese products in demand in Belarus. In terms of export, we try to provide a comprehensive service: we study demand, look for potential buyers, attract them to the exchange platform, support them in trading and create conditions for concluding a deal. As a result, in 2024, the volume of sales of domestic products to China increased by more than 1.5 times. As for imports, the efforts of the representative office organized the purchase of such commodity items in China as polymers, food raw materials, photographic and lighting equipment, industrial equipment and components. Thus, we helped a number of Belarusian enterprises promptly resolve import substitution issues," the BUCE representative emphasized.
The Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange was established in 2004. The first trades took place in June 2005. The Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange is one of the largest commodity exchanges in Eastern Europe. The main function of the exchange is to assist Belarusian enterprises in exporting their products and to assist foreign companies in entering the Belarusian market. The exchange sells metal, timber,
agricultural products , industrial and consumer goods of a wide range.
