In the Moscow region, veterinary and preventive work began in the sheep breeding industry. I reported about it. about. Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Moscow Region Sergey Voskresensky, PionerProduct LLC writes with reference to the press service of the regional Ministry of Agriculture.
“More than 50 veterinary specialists of the Moscow Region are involved in preventive measures to ensure the epizootic well-being of farms of various forms of ownership, including farms and personal subsidiary farms engaged in keeping and breeding sheep. As of today, 2.8 thousand sheep breeding farms are registered in the region, which contain about 56 thousand sheep,” Sergey Voskresensky said.
Veterinary and preventive work depends on the size of the farm, the number of sheep and productive orientation. The farms carry out activities aimed at housing hygiene, feeding hygiene and diet assessment, as well as disease prevention.
“Sheep breeding is an area of animal husbandry, which has recently been actively developing in the agriculture of the region. Separately, I will note 3 sheep-breeding farms, with a population of more than 3.5 thousand sheep, which are engaged in the production of a valuable product - sheep's milk in Mozhaisk, Lukhovitsk and Zaraisk urban districts. All livestock should be regularly vaccinated and other measures should be taken to prevent sheep diseases,” Sergey Voskresensky emphasized.
He added that the effectiveness of preventive measures depends on the timeliness of the work performed by veterinarians, which serves as a guarantee of the well-being of animals from infectious and parasitic diseases.
