A new educational laboratory for poultry farming was opened at the Nizhny Novgorod Agricultural Academy

A new educational laboratory for poultry farming has appeared at the Nizhny Novgorod Agricultural Academy (NGSKhA). Nikolai Denisov, Minister of Agriculture and Food Resources of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, took part in its grand opening. 

“Today, agriculture is actively developing - large investment projects are being implemented, agricultural enterprises are introducing new technologies. it is obvious that one cannot do without highly qualified personnel. The training of a modern specialist is impossible without providing the opportunity to master the equipment and technologies that he will meet upon graduation. The classroom that we have opened will allow students to get acquainted with modern equipment that is currently used in the poultry industry, this will bring them to a new level of professional training,” Nikolai Denisov emphasized.

The new training laboratory has been refurbished and equipped with modern equipment that allows simulating the process of real poultry production: from egg incubation to growing a commercial broiler. The work was carried out with the support of the Russkoye Pole company.

“We have great pans for development, and we are interested in training highly qualified specialists who, having come to work with us, will have the most up-to-date knowledge and skills. In the poultry laboratory, we presented the equipment that is one to one used today at our enterprise. We expect that training in the new classroom will help to narrow the gap between the theoretical knowledge of students and the practical component,” said Anton Romanov, General DIRECTOR of the Russian Field Management Company.

As part of the implementation of the educational program of the discipline "Poultry Farming", future zootechnicians will study the issues of selection and biological safety of production processes for growing poultry, the main technological processes of poultry farming, aspects of special keeping and feeding, providing the required daily weight gain of the bird and other issues.

“Earlier, the educational course on poultry farming at the academy was held solely on the basis of theoretical knowledge using literary sources, when students could see the bird only on presentation materials. Now, with the advent of a practical laboratory, students will be able to see the real process of bird reproduction - from the incubation period to growing an adult," said Anzhelika Sharina, vice-rector for educational methodological work of the NSAAA.

She also noted that the cooperation of the academy with the enterprises of the agro-industrial complex of the Nizhny Novgorod region, which are members of the board of trustees of the academy, makes it possible to attract investments in updating the material and technical base of the educational institution.

Recall that the Board of Trustees of the National Agricultural Academy was established at the beginning of this year, which included the heads of the leading agricultural enterprises in the region. Andrey Sanosyan, deputy governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, has been appointed its chairman.
