The Ministry of Agriculture of Russia discussed issues of food security and regulation of agricultural markets

Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev held a regular interdepartmental meeting on food security and the price situation in the agricultural markets.

Speaking about food safety, the HEAD of the Ministry of Agriculture noted that last year, according to preliminary data, 153.8 million tons of grain were harvested, of which more than 104 million tons were wheat. Higher than a year earlier, the harvest of oilseeds - in particular, rapeseed and soybeans. For a number of other crops, forecasts were generally met or exceeded.

Particular attention at the meeting was paid to the dynamics in animal husbandry. According to preliminary data, in 2022, the production of livestock and poultry increased by almost 0.5 million tons. The indicators in the dairy industry also increased.

According to Dmitry Patrushev, the results achieved and the implementation of the key indicators of the Food Safety Doctrine give confidence that the Russian agro-industrial complex as a whole has adapted to the new realities. As a result, the price situation in the domestic market has stabilized, no significant fluctuations are observed now.
