According to the results of the third quarter of 2024 , the production of livestock and poultry in the region increased by 107% compared to the same period last year and amounted to more than 150 thousand tons. it is expected that by the end of the year this figure will grow to 210 thousand tons. The main factors of growth were the introduction of new technologies and support from the state.

The situation with dairy production also shows positive dynamics: 154.6 thousand tons of MILK were produced in the first nine months of the current year, which corresponds to 103% of last year. Cow productivity increased to 7141 kg per cow, and according to forecasts, by the end of the year this figure may reach 9200 kg.

However, not everything is so clear-cut in egg production. The Tula and Zaokskaya poultry farms have begun replacing low-yielding laying hens. This decision, although aimed at long-term improvement of product quality, may lead to a short-term decrease in egg production volumes. In the first nine months of this year, 599.1 million eggs were sold, and by the end of the year, this volume is planned to increase to 820 million.

In order to support farmers, the Tula Region has 35 measures, financed from the federal and regional budgets. This year, 529 million rubles have been allocated for crop production, 653 million for livestock farming, and 97.5 million rubles for other agricultural initiatives.

The Tula region demonstrates active development in the sphere of agriculture, despite some difficulties in egg production. The increase in MEAT and milk production, together with state support, create favorable conditions for farmers. Taking into account the trends and plans, the region has every chance to become one of the leaders in agricultural production in RUSSIA.
