Production of livestock and poultry meat in the Oryol region increased by 17%

Over the seven months of this year, the number of some types of farm animals has increased in the Oryol region.

As of August 1, 2021, the number of pigs in farms of all categories increased from last year by 164.2 thousand - up to 756.6 thousand heads. The number of dairy cows in the region increased by 2.3 thousand and amounted to 34.1 thousand. At the same time, the total number of cattle decreased by 20,000 heads to 130,200.

In January-July, agricultural enterprises of the Oryol region produced 128.6 thousand tons of livestock and poultry meat - 1% more than in seven months of 2020.
