Demand for pork will grow, and at a faster pace, due to CHINA 's economic recovery . Alexei Zubets, DIRECTOR of the Institute for Social and Economic Research of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, told a REGNUM correspondent about this on August 10.
“Chicken and pork have grown the fastest in recent years. Because it is a relatively cheap mass production,” Zubets said. - Still, the population does not buy steaks from marbled beef. They are bought only by the upper class. And mass food is chicken and pork. At the same time, one must understand that the main consumer of pork is China , which is developing actively and vigorously. And accordingly, the demand for it will grow (in world markets) at a faster pace over the next year. This is what we have seen recently. Pork prices have gone up a lot. Approximately 20% in world markets.”
As the economist explained, as the US economy recovers, demand for chicken MEAT will also grow on the world market.
“This is mass food for poor people. And in the usa, and we have. In general, RUSSIA was one of the champions in terms of rising prices for chicken and eggs. If we are talking about domestic Russian demand, then it will be more or less stable. But if we talk about the external, then it is more likely to go up. The trend is up,” Zubets said.
