The Ministry of Agriculture agreed to postpone the reform of waste disposal for three years

Following the Ministry of Economic Development, the department made a proposal to postpone the reform on the disposal of goods and packaging by manufacturers: earlier it was scheduled for 2022. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the responsibility of producers in this matter should be established in stages.

Earlier, a proposal to postpone the deadlines was made by Russian business associations. Recall that the reform of extended producer responsibility (EPR) provides for the introduction of a 100% standard for packaging recycling.

The transfer became known from a letter from Deputy Minister of Agriculture Oksana Lut. Representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture stressed that they support representatives of industry unions and are ready to discuss and consider this issue at the government platform with the participation of all interested departments and industry representatives. Recycling obligations will increase in stages, until 2025.

The Central Bank estimated annual inflation in Russia as of September 6 at 6.74% 

We remind you that earlier the head of the Ministry of Natural Resources Andrey Kozlov expressed the opinion that companies that did not take care of creating capacities for recycling should pay a mandatory environmental fee.
