Epizootic situation for especially dangerous animal diseases in the world from June 19 to 25, 2021

For the period from 18 to 25 June 2021, the OIE received reports of the registration of 138 foci of especially dangerous animal diseases in 17 countries of the world. The corresponding notifications were published on the website of the World Organization for Animal HEALTH (OIE).

Infectious nodular dermatitis was detected by veterinary services in Malaysia, which was previously free of the disease (23 foci). New cases of LSD infection in livestock continue to be reported in Cambodia (1). In Cuba, hemorrhagic disease of rabbits (3 foci) was detected. The infection has not been reported in the country since 2010.

Outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza subtypes H5, H5N1, H5N5 and H5N8 have been notified in Albania (3 outbreaks), Iran (1), the Netherlands (5), Taiwan (1) and South Africa (4). The disease has been noted among agricultural birds and wild birds. An outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza subtype H5N8 was registered in Serbia (1 outbreak), the disease has not been registered in the country since 2017.

African swine fever outbreaks were recorded in South Africa (1), as well as in Hungary (43), Germany (15), Latvia (2) and Romania (23).

FMD has been reported from South Africa (8 outbreaks). Viruses of serotypes SAT-1, SAT-2 and SAT-3 are circulating in the country this year. In France (1), porcine brucellosis (Brusella suis) has been reported. Hemorrhagic disease of rabbits - in the usa (1). Cases of CORONAVIRUS infection in animals have been reported in Poland (1) and Croatia (1). The disease was found in domestic dogs and fur-bearing animals.
