In February 2022, the World Organization for Animal HEALTH (OIE) received reports of the registration of especially dangerous animal diseases in various countries of the world. The corresponding notifications were published on the official website of the OIE.

On the territory of Finland, a case of piroplasmosis was registered in a horse imported a year ago. Previously, the infection was registered in the country in 2020. In Mozambique, leishmaniasis (1 focus). The country reported the presence of the disease in 2012.

Highly pathogenic avian influenza was reported in February by Cameroon (1 outbreak), Nepal (9), Senegal (1), Macedonia (2) and the Philippines (4). In Nepal, the disease has not been reported since 2021. In Macedonia and Cameroon, the disease has not been officially registered since 2017, and in Senegal since 2020. In Senegal, the infection spread among pelicans, on the territory of Djoudj National Bird Park, an ornithological site located in the department of Dagan and included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Ongoing outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza have been reported by Austria (6 outbreaks), Belgium (25), Bulgaria (1), United Kingdom (46), Hungary (1), Vietnam (4), Germany (249), Denmark (24), India ( 1), Ireland (3), Spain (31), Italy (9), CANADA (4), Lithuania (2), Luxembourg (1), Namibia (5), Niger (2), Nigeria (56), Netherlands ( 102), Norway (1), Poland (10), Portugal (6), Romania (8), Slovakia (3), usa (13), Taiwan (8), Faroe Islands (1), Finland (1), France (211), Croatia (2), Czech Republic (10), Sweden (5), Estonia (1), South Africa (5), SOUTH KOREA (31) and Japan (4).

Newcastle disease has been reported in Belize's poultry population (1).

New foci of African swine fever have been reported in Bulgaria (2), Hungary (51), Germany (31), Italy (15), Latvia (66), Moldova (3), Romania (127), Ukraine (2), Thailand ( 32), Haiti (1), Dominican Republic (1) and South Africa (5).

Plague of small ruminants continues to affect small ruminants in Morocco (2). Lumpy skin disease has been reported in Cambodia (1) and Thailand (6).

FMD type O was registered in Israel (2) and Tunisia (3), type SAT-2 in South Africa (7). The foot-and-mouth disease virus that caused the outbreak in Malawi (1) is not typed.

In Mauritania (3), for the first time since 2019, a focus of Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever was registered. Information about a new focus of Aujeszky's disease came from France (1). The infection was detected in wild boars on a hunting farm.

In Canada, rabies has been noted in a dog imported from Iran. This is the second case of canine rabies reported in Canada since the 1960s. New cases of rabies have also been reported in Malaysia (6) and Melilla (1).

In the USA (1) domestic non-commercial rabbits have hemorrhagic disease.

Equine contagious metritis in the UK (1). The disease was detected during mandatory pre-mating testing in a stallion brought from continental Europe.

CORONAVIRUS infection covid-19 has been detected in companion animals in Hong Kong (3), Finland (1) and Switzerland (2).
