Trade relations between Brazil and Turkey have entered a new strategic phase with the official approval of nine South American companies to export gelatin and collagen. This progress is the result of technical cooperation, including inspections by Turkish inspectors in Brazil, which enabled domestic production to comply with TROIS requirements and strengthen the predictability of export flows for both countries.
In December 2025, an official Turkish veterinary mission assessed Brazilian facilities in this sector and confirmed compliance with sanitary standards for domestic production at three inspected facilities. Six other facilities, already included on the European Union's TRACES list, were added to the Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry's (MAF) list following a document review.
Registration is carried out through the TROIS system, recently introduced in Turkey, which contains a list of enterprises and countries that meet the sanitary requirements for the export of gelatin, collagen, fish, dairy products and meat.
TROIS currently has 10 companies authorized to export gelatin and collagen to Turkey, six of which are located in Brazil. Specifically, four companies are authorized to export only gelatin (two of which are Brazilian), and four are authorized to export only collagen (one of which is Brazilian). In addition to the permits already issued, eight more Brazilian companies are under review. They are expected to be included in the list of authorized exporters soon.
The presence of Brazilian companies on the Turkish list strengthens market access and increases the predictability of the sector's commercial transactions with Turkey.
