
April 6, MINSK. A resident of the Slutsk district handed over control of a faulty car to a drunken relative without a driver's license, as a result, two people died in an accident, BelTA informs citing the information service of the prosecutor's office of the Minsk region.
A 25-year-old man appeared before the COURT. He was accused of putting into operation a knowingly technically faulty car and allowing a person to drive it, knowingly not having the right to drive a vehicle while intoxicated , which negligently caused the death of two people.
As established during the trial, shortly before the tragedy, the man bought a Renault car, which had malfunctions in the running and braking systems. At the request of his uncle, who had never had the right to drive vehicles and was drunk at the time, the accused allowed him to drive a malfunctioning car on August 5, 2021 in order to go to a neighboring village for ALCOHOL. On the way back, the uncle was distracted from the control, moved into a ditch and crashed into a roadside tree. The driver and one of the passengers, the brother of the accused, died in the accident. The defendant himself, who was also in the car, received bodily injuries.
Taking into account the evidence presented by the public prosecutor, the Slutsk District Court delivered a guilty verdict: 1 year 6 months in prison with serving in a colony in a settlement. Also, a man is deprived of the right to engage in activities related to driving vehicles for a period of 5 years. The verdict came into force.
