REPORTAGE: One of the best police officers in the country from the Vitebsk region has been maintaining the prestige of the profession for 17 years

The profession of a policeman for Soviet boys was considered special. Then in honor of the children, including those in rural areas, there were detective series. The images of domestic and foreign law enforcement officers fighting against criminal gangs and all-powerful mafiosi were covered with an aura of heroism, mystery and undeniable courage. This was also the idea of ​​Sergei Tikhonov, who has been serving for the benefit of ordinary people for almost 17 years and has already become a senior district inspector. In his working biography there are many titles and awards, including those of the republican level: several times he became the winner of the competition of professional skills among colleagues and twice climbed the podium. In the area under his jurisdiction, as they say, they know him from infancy: in the current agro-town of Oktyabrskaya, he was born, grew up and cherished the dream of becoming a policeman.

To work in the police and protect people - such was the dream of Sergei Tikhonov from an early age. Not to say that he had the image of a brave guardian of order, which he wanted to be equal to: his parents worked on a collective farm. However, the native of the Vitebsk region always had a desire to get a noble profession. As a boy, he also did not communicate very often with people in uniform, and he saw the district police officer in the village only on certain occasions. And yet, the attraction to law enforcement was so strong that one of the best precincts in the country is still tied to his job.

More than 3 thousand inhabitants and three large settlements - today's front of the work of Sergei Tikhonov. He has one of the largest plots in the Vitebsk region. He visits the site every day, is interested in the life of the "wards". Almost everyone has his phone number. A little something - they immediately call the precinct. In addition to the fact that for everyone he is a representative of the law, Sergei Tikhonov is also his own policeman, local, close to everyone and almost dear. "A good man, sincere. We have known him for a long time. He will talk and ask how his HEALTH is. If any question arises, we turn to him. The district police officer looks after our brawlers and drinkers. We had one woman, abused, went to neighbors, rioted , beat the windows. So Sergey Valerievich talked to her, pacified her. Recently, she had trouble - her legs became bad, she could not walk. So the district police officer took her to the hospital, drove her. He is very good with us," local pensioner Alexandra Leonova commented on the guardian of order.

The fact that Sergei Tikhonov is from Oktyabrskaya both helped and hindered at the same time. Initially, it was not easy for the young district police officer to establish professional communication. It's no joke to come to the village, where six months ago he himself lit up at the disco, a man in uniform and demand discipline from yesterday's rake. And yet, the purposeful servant of the law was able to gain authority among those who knew him as a schoolboy. Now the work already seems familiar, simple, although still interesting, despite some routine and monotony.

"There are no problems in work. For so many years I have learned everything, you already know everything, you know how, you set priorities correctly. Our profession, like the times, is changing, we have to adapt to new realities, but district inspectors remain as in demand as they were 15 years ago "Of course, my idea of ​​this work when I was little and the reality are different. I will say more: it is different even from what I started with. I believe that the prestige of my profession remains high. The villagers always listen, seek advice, take into account my opinion," he said.

Convicted, leading an asocial lifestyle, disadvantaged, abusing ALCOHOL - the main contingent with whom, on duty, Sergei Tikhonov has to communicate daily. They need to be looked after, directed on the path of correction, told about the consequences of deviant behavior and, if there are children, reminded of the responsibility for the heirs. “In all three settlements there is only one young woman who does not want to improve in any way, despite the fact that she has children. In other cases, parents from dysfunctional families try for the sake of sons and daughters, who become the main a catalyst for change for the better. And this is good, because children are our most important value, "said the district police officer.

"Flowers of Life" are also in the field of vision of the district police officer. Together with the workers of the juvenile prison, Sergei Tikhonov conducts preventive work among the so-called difficult teenagers, fortunately there are not many of them. Yes, and today's younger generation is no longer as noisy as it used to be, boys and girls are absorbed by gadgets and the world wide web. However, even with such a "load" they, appearing on the street, can afford obscene behavior. The district police officer holds regular meetings with schoolchildren on the eve of the holidays, explains to the children the rules of safe behavior, talks about the dangers of ALCOHOLISM and drug addiction, and also urges them to be careful online and not to succumb to the dubious offers of strangers who seek to distribute illegal substances through the hands of children.

The inspector knows everyone in his area by sight and can easily ask right on the street about business, health, children, relatives. Who moved where, what repairs he did, what he bought, how elderly parents live - there are a lot of topics for a casual and rich conversation. The district police officer is valued for his responsiveness.

The very first assistants in the village for the district police officer are representatives of the village council, village elders, shop workers, heads and administration of enterprises. They will always tell you who you need to pay attention to, with whom to work harder. “One district policeman can’t keep track of three thousand people, so someone always helps on the ground. We closely cooperate with the chairman of the Oktyabrsky village council, Yuri Osipov. etc. Together we are working on correcting citizens who lead an asocial lifestyle, we are trying to involve them in useful deeds," Sergey Tikhonov noted.

"The district police officer in the village is a friend, comrade and brother. He is the first one I call if something happens, problems arise or there is some idea. We exchange views with him both at work and outside it. Sergey Valerievich is a representative of law enforcement organs and acts more like a punishing hand, and we, the administration of the village council, are trying to show the residents an alternative. We always act in one bundle. Sometimes I can threaten lovers of strong drinks, they say, I will tell Valeryevich. "Don't!" - they immediately ask. And they are afraid, and respect. The authority of our district police officer is high," Yury Osipov said.

Situations when you have to involve colleagues from the police department or other law enforcement agencies, at the site of the unit. The most intense is in the summer, when urban residents come to the dachas (and there are more than a thousand of them). Most often, among the offenses at such a time, thefts, hooliganism, especially those committed while intoxicated , are recorded . "In my area for almost 17 years of service, almost all conflicts were resolved on the spot," Sergey Tikhonov shared.

Now a lot of young people come to the militia. And senior colleagues, as experienced mentors, willingly share the wisdom gained over the years of service. “I am glad that almost all representatives of the young replenishment strive to work, do not take into account personal time, are motivated. The profession of a district police officer, I believe, is timeless: there were inspectors 17 years ago, and there are now. There is no way in the village without them,” he expressed his opinion a district police officer, who by his example proves that it is possible and necessary to work with the soul, not only where he was born and useful, but everywhere and always.

And it is also important for fearless policemen to have a reliable rear behind them. For a district police officer who spends both weekends and holidays at work, a warm family hearth and an understanding and supportive spouse give confidence in their abilities. This helps not to dwell on minor difficulties, forget about troubles and boldly move forward along the chosen path.
