A drunk driver without a license attempted to evade traffic police in the Khotsimsky district.

October 30, MINSK . In the Khotsimsk District, a drunk driver, disqualified from driving, attempted to evade prosecution, the Gomel Regional Executive Committee's Internal Affairs Directorate told BelTA.

On one of the local roads, a Volkswagen caught the attention of Kostyukovichi traffic police officers. The driver ignored the stop signal and continued driving. However, when he realized he couldn't escape pursuit, he finally braked.

During the investigation, traffic police officers determined that the 34-year-old local resident had previously lost his license for drunk driving. This time, he was also intoxicated. A breath test revealed a 2 ppm ALCOHOL level. Failure to comply with the traffic police's orders to stop the vehicle only worsened the situation. Now, the drunk driver faces serious penalties.

The State Traffic Inspectorate asks drivers not to violate established rules and to refrain from reckless actions.
