September 10, Mogilev. The maneuver of a drunk driver caused an accident in the Osipovichi district. BelTA was informed about this by the Department of Internal Affairs of the Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee.

The accident happened this morning at about 9.17 am on the highway Khutor - Grodzianka station - Lapichi. A 40-year-old driver of a Volkswagen car, overtaking in the wrong place, collided with a SKODA car, which was moving in the same direction and making a left turn. As a result of an accident, a Volkswagen driver and a 62-year-old Skoda driver were hospitalized with injuries. Law enforcement officers noted that at the time of the accident, the driver of the Volkswagen was intoxicated .

The state traffic inspectorate reminds that the punishment for drunk drivers has become tougher. Now, if the exhaled air contains from 0.3 to 0.8 ppm of ALCOHOL, the driver faces a fine of 100 basic units (1 BV - Br32) and deprivation of the right to drive for a period of 3 years, and if more than 0.8 ppm, then the fine will already be 200 basic units with deprivation of the right to drive for 5 years.
