
According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Tambov region, the region's agrarians have sown 1429 thousand hectares of arable land with spring crops. This is more than the planned values for the current year (1423 thousand hectares).
Millet, oats, rapeseed, soybeans, mustard were sown more than planned in the region. SUGAR beet was sown on 105 thousand hectares of arable land, which is 7% more than the planned sowing. Peas were sown 22% more than planned - 59.5 thousand hectares of agricultural fields.
In the 2023 sowing campaign, agricultural producers revised the area structure in favor of crops for which increased demand is expected. Thus, the agrarians of the region will provide processors with more demanded raw materials and, accordingly, will receive a good profit.
According to experts, the optimization of plans in accordance with the needs of the market takes place annually. The agricultural sector of the region makes a significant contribution to the all-Russian food basket.
Plant breeders of the region are completing the last sowing and planting work on potato, vegetable, and grain fields. Work
continues on the treatment of crops with means of protection against pests and weeds. Care work will continue as the plants develop.
