Grant support for small farms helps both beginner farmers to start their own business and reach a new level for existing ones. As noted in the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kaliningrad region, this is confirmed by the practice of implementing the grant program.
So, Inna Ermolenko in the Guryev urban district registered a peasant (farmer) economy in 2020. Her project successfully passed the competitive selection, following which a grant in the amount of more than 2.2 million rubles was provided for its implementation. These funds were used to purchase a tractor, a mower, a plow, a walk-behind tractor and other agricultural machinery and equipment. This year, Inna Ermolenko harvested the first crop of vegetables - 20.5 tons of pumpkins, zucchini and cucumbers grown in open and protected ground. The plans also include starting the cultivation of sweet corn in 2022.
State support helped to increase production volumes and the farm, which has been operating in the Guryev district for about 15 years and is one of the largest in the region for growing vegetables in open and closed ground. Svetlana Oberderfer successfully produces potatoes, cabbage, beets, carrots, onions, green crops, and tomatoes. Her work is highly appreciated, including at the federal level. As part of the All-Russian Agro-Industrial Exhibition "Golden Autumn - 2021", the agrarian was awarded the bronze medal of the Ministry of Agriculture of RUSSIA "For achieving high performance in crop production." In 2020, Svetlana Oberderfer became the winner of the competitive selection in the Development of Family Farms category and received a grant in the amount of more than 15.4 million rubles. With these funds, the farm purchased agricultural equipment, and in order to store products for long-term storage without loss of quality, a vegetable store was re-equipped. As part of the ongoing project, by the end of 2021, the gross harvest of beets, cabbage, onions and potatoes exceeded 4.6 thousand tons, which is almost 30% more than the plan. In total, the gross harvest of vegetables and potatoes on the farm this year amounted to more than 5.6 thousand tons.
it should be noted that the Guryev urban district occupies key positions in the region in the production of potatoes and vegetables, it accounts for the bulk of the sown area occupied by these crops.
Thanks to grant support, other areas of agricultural production are also being developed in the municipality. In 2019, Denis Nikulshin won a grant to support the production and processing of agricultural products in small forms of management. An individual entrepreneur is engaged in the production of FLOUR from cereals grown in the region and bakes various types of bread from it. The grant in the amount of 1.8 million rubles was used to purchase equipment for baking and a cargo van to deliver products to points of sale. For 11 months of this year, a small family bakery produced about 22 tons of bakery products - almost 4 times more than three years ago.
