Agricultural organizations and farms of Kabardino-Balkaria, engaged in the cultivation of blueberries on an industrial scale, note an increase in blueberry yields by an average of 2.5-3% this year. According to operational data, at least 30 centners of berries are harvested from one hectare this year.
This yield is given by two to three years of planting. By the time blueberry plantations enter the period of full fruiting, and this is starting from the fifth year, farmers intend to collect, depending on the variety, up to 80 centners of berries per hectare.
Today, in Kabardino-Balkaria, the area of industrial blueberry plantations is 125 hectares, of which 20 hectares were planted in the spring of this year.
In addition to agricultural organizations and farms, the northern berry is actively grown in households.
The annual increase in yields and areas under blueberries will have a positive effect on the gross harvest of berry crops in general. Last year, over 4.7 thousand tons of various berries were harvested in all categories of farms, according to the results of the current year, it is expected to receive about 5 thousand tons.
