The Rostov region retains its leadership position in terms of the pace of agricultural equipment renewal

Don agrarians last year purchased more than 5,000 units of agricultural machinery.
On the Don, work is actively underway to upgrade the machine and tractor fleet of agricultural enterprises and farms. Last year, the Rostov region became the leader in terms of the amount of purchased agricultural machinery.
“In 2021, Don agrarians purchased 5,072 units of agricultural machinery, which is more than 600 agricultural vehicles more than a year earlier,” said First Deputy Don Governor Viktor Goncharov. - The Rostov region retains its leadership position in terms of the pace of its renewal of agricultural machinery, but the modernization of the agricultural machinery fleet remains a top priority. This is especially important now, on the eve of the new agricultural season, because it is the technical equipment of the industry that makes it possible to carry out the sowing and harvesting campaign in the required technological terms, ensuring high rates of work.”
So, according to the Don Ministry of Agriculture and Food, in 2021, Don farmers purchased 1,173 tractors (2020 - 1,007 tractors, an increase of 16%), 589 combine harvesters (2020 - 479 combines, an increase of 23%), 3,310 units of other agricultural equipment (2020 - 2980 units of equipment, an increase of 11%).
“In order for highly efficient energy-saturated agricultural machinery to reach as many farms as possible, regional support is provided,” Viktor Goncharov emphasized. - In the Rostov region, the governor's program to support agricultural producers has been operating for 13 years in the form of subsidizing 20% of the cost of purchased agricultural equipment. By decision of the governor of the region Vasily Golubev, this year the regional support aimed at updating the fleet of agricultural machinery will be 1.5 times more than last year.
So, in 2022, funds in the amount of 476.1 million rubles were allocated from the regional budget to reimburse part of the costs for the purchase of agricultural machinery. Last year, funds for the renewal of the agricultural machinery fleet from the regional budget amounted to 322.5 million rubles.
This year, the recipients of the subsidy will be at least 150 agricultural producers engaged in animal husbandry (MEAT, dairy cattle breeding, dairy goat breeding, breeding sheep breeding, poultry farming), horticulture, as well as agricultural producers of the eastern regions of the region and engaged in crop production and have purchased tractors manufactured in the Rostov region.
An announcement about the start of admission and the timing of the competition for a subsidy will be posted on the website of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the region in February.
